Herzing University (Orlando Campus)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am a student at Herzing University at the Orlando campus. I wanted to do a quarterly update of this school for the ASN RN Program.

I want to do this because I saw so many bad reviews and very little good reviews for this school, that I started to panic and regret enrolling there. I am a single mother and I do not collect child support or any government assistance. I want to complete the nursing program to secure my daughter's future. I do have a passion of caring for others in their time of need, but now that I am a mother I have to take that passion and contribute it to secure my daughter's needs. So just imagine what I thought seeing those reviews from different sources. My stomach was turning. All the nursing schools around me had such bad reviews: Concorde, Keiser, and Mid Tech.

I started Herzing in July 2017. I do have some prereqs to take and they did accept my prior credits. The financial department was very helpful with helping me fill out my fafsa application accurately. I did get accepted for financial aid and a loan, but as I am attending, I am paying. I pay $70 a month from July to December to pay off my loan.

There are some classes that I see that are truly pointless. Like Professional Literacy, and a few other things that I saw. I get that they want us to be prepared on how to conduct ourselves when entering our career, but... in my opinion you should just already know better.

What I don't like so far is that some books are virtual. I prefer hardcover copies. I cannot stare at a screen for too long reading unless I am texting. You can choose to receive a hardcover book, but be advised that it is not free.

I just finished my Professional Literacy, Computers &___, and some other pointless class. They were very easy. As long as you do your work and engage in your discussions, then you will do fine.

Next week, I will be started the next quarter which contains General Microbiology and General Microbiology Lab. I have heard all around this is a hard subject. But, I will let you guys know.

Hi there. Interesting post. However, I would not use my real name as representatives from Herzing may be on this site. As much as I 'd like to think your honesty wouldn't bring your "harm" in any way, well, people can be vindictive.

That being said---what types of things did you learn in the Professional Literacy course? Was this a "how to write" course or "how to read professional literature" course/

I wish you the best and I admire your gumption to persevere.

Hi MDocteur,

I read your review and it was the most recent review I have seen. I wanted to ask you if you can give an update on how you are doing? do you like the school? the professors? WOuld you recommend it. Im looking to get into the nursing program and this is one of the school im considering. Please help, any information is greatly appreciated it.

MDocteur,

any update on your progress with this school. I am about to start Micro at the Orlando Campus in May, then on to the core classes. Like you these bad reviews are making me nervous.

How do you like herzing orlando? I will be attending the nursing program in a few months and I'm so nervous

Any updates on herzing nursing program at Orlando campus. Is this school worth it?

Hello, Herzing orlando is very accelerated. I am doing great in the program but I know many people who complain and have failed or dropped out. Its all about the amount of work you are willing to put in. Semesters are 8 weeks long and many times we dont know our next class schedule til a couple of weeks ahead so if you dont have a job that can work around your school schedule that maybe a problem. The school is very unorganized so make sure you keep copies of everything and 95% of the program you will teach yourself so be prepared to study even the days you have off. READ READ READ and also look up youtube videos to reinforce the material. try to score high on everything because people have failed by .2%. And most importantly stay away from negative people. Have faith in yourself. Ths school is VERY expensive. So make sure you save $$

Thank you Krissypoo12 for your time to write this update, happy to hear that you are doing good on your program. Good luck on your nursing journey

Hey!

Any updates on how the program is going? I am planning on attending the accelerated BSN program in May but haven't read the best reviews about the school!

A lot of people are saying they are very unorganized. Can anyone give an update on how the school/program is?

Thanks!

Hi!

Can anybody tell us how they are doing in the accelerated BSN program. what are the materials or website you used to study for the Kaplan integrated test?

Hi. Can some give an update on herzing ? I would like to attend but I don't like the feed back that im reading. I was told by someone that you self- teach at this school. Why should someone self teach at such an exspensive school ?

I used Kaplan rationals, registered nurse RN, ósmosis (Youtube) and the prioritization book.
