No public health isn't the way to go.

Non-profit inner city agencies are. You don't say where in the country you are but there are many agencies across the nation that work with the sex trade.

Wanted to know if there were other options, especially since right now, as a nursing student, I can volunteer limited time but not $ YET

Are you in a nursing program now, or are you still working on pre-reqs? This seems like a good path for social work or psychology. For nursing, womens health and psychiatric health would be great specialties. There are NP degrees specific to WH and psych as well, if you'd like the ability to help with a larger scope of practice.

Anytime! I think it is wonderful what you are hoping to do. I also have found a love that doesn't perfectly fall within the normal lines that nursing covers (it's a bit more psychology oriented, but that's okay!). The advantage to the nursing path is that it really does have a great scope of practice even at the bachelors or associates level, and you will have more versatility than if you had initially gone through a sociology or psychology masters/doctorate. If you're a phd in psychology, you can't exactly wake up one day and decide, "I think I'd rather be in cardiology now."
