I feel your pain regarding Chem. I loathe it with a passion but these sites might help:

Chemistry is EASY! How do you Balance Chemical Equations?

Chemistry is EASY! Electron Configurations, Balancing Equations, Mole Chemistry, Bohr Diagrams.

The book I used:

Chemistry for Dummies.

Good luck with it, and I am sure you will do fine!

Huge fan of the whole Khan series! I have Chem coming up to and I'm scared as well!!!! Ive been pre studying the whole break from the text with the course syllabus from last semester and chem for dummies and khan! Best of luck to both of us!

I took chemistry last semester and managed an A. I work almost full time, have 3 small kids and was taking two other classes. It wasn't too hard for me but maybe I'm just lucky lol. I also had a really forgiving teacher who liked to give us partial credit for getting answers at least partially correct. My suggestion is to read the chapters, go to lecture, take notes and work with a tutor or study group if you feel the need. Good luck!

This textbook:

"Chemistry: An introduction to General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry 11th Edition" (It has a flamingo on the front cover)

This is the textbook that got me an A in Chemistry. It has great step-by-step examples and practice problems in each chapter. It literally tells you how to do each problem in great detail. Although this book is a bit expensive, it is worth getting. It was the required textbook for my Chem class but even if it isn't your required text I'd still recommend it. You can always rent it or sell it back on amazon when you're done with it.
