Help With The Teas

I am taking my TEAS test next week and I am very scared! Is there a lot of Chemistry and Physics on the test? How is the math? What kind of math is on it? How about A+P, is there alot of those questions on it? I am really really nervious. I have the ATI study manual, but some of the questions in there are really hard! Can someone give me a basic idea of what the test is like? Any test taking tips will be great too!

The TEAS is filled with a lot of questions that involve things that I learned in middle school. It was a very basic test the hard part was recalling all of the information from that far back. The science is what got the majority of the people who I know that took it. I would refresh on life science, and earth science. I thought that the review book was a big help but I also went and bought some review book on the two subjects mentioned above.

I was like you last week.:uhoh21: I took the TEAS last Friday, and boy was I nervous. You definitely want to study the ATI guide. I was given a website www.testprepreview.com as another study aide, and its a good refresher;however, I believe that the math questions are a lot harder on the website than they are on the test. The test is really basic, but like the other person said the science portion to me and to other people,was the hardest part. To me there was a lot of material to study, plus not knowing what kind of questions were going to be asked. I find it weird that the science section really didn't focus on A&P or Micro. I took chemistry 3 years ago and I really don't remember much, and I have never taken physics. So lets just say I was worried about that part, but the questions on my test were very basic chemistry and physics.

I would love to give you more detail, but when taking the test we had to sign a "Privacy Policy" and we're not suppose to tell anyone what's on the test, which I think is stupid. Of course people are going to talk about the test. Anyway, I would suggest that you look up more about the rock cycle like on google, so you can get a better understanding because the study guide doesn't show pictures. Definitely study all the things in the math section. Know your conversions, fractions, percentage, area and perimeter etc. The math section on the test I think was easier than the guide. Reading section VERY EASY and was the like the guide. English section was just like the study guide.

I would also like to make another suggestion. DO NOT buy the practice test on the ATI website. I did and I regret spending $27. At first I was thinking that it would be good to do this because they give 2 online practice test, but what I didn't know was that both tests were going to be the same. Big disappointment:nono:

I thought it was similar.

The online practice test is the same at the actual test. Not the same questions of course, but the format is the same and it will give you an idea of how the questions will be.

I agree that the ATI book helps greatly with the math. Hoever, the science is all over the place and it appears difficult. A vast majority of the stuff in that section, you probably will not see. Many people on here are stating that their science portion was about rocks, tectonic plates, and boundaries and maybe 1 punnett square, graphs to follow and one or two physical science questions. I'm taking the test Nov.11 and I pray I may the score needed the first time. The school I'm attending takes the overall score and you must make at least a 70%.
