HELP:Will I bet accepted (ABSN)

Published

I will be entering my fourth and final year as an undergraduate student with a B.S. degree. Before I finish my last year I plan on applying to an accelerated bsn program. I currently am in school in Pennsylvania and though there are a lot more schools up north for the ABSN program I am looking to relocate down to North Carolina and/or South Carolina (preferably NC).... HOWEVER, many schools want you to have at least a c if not better in the pre-reqs. I received a C- in microbiology. I don't know what to do. They want a c on the first attempt of the class.

Will I even be considered? I'm looking at NC A&T and Gardner Webb. If you have any more suggestions please lmk. But because of the C- I am concerned. I received a B- in lab. I had a lot going on that semester- but I know it isn't an excuse. I know I won't get into UNC or Duke. They just seem so prestige. The next question is, should I just figure out a different route to becoming a Nurse?

T.I.A.

Just retake the course, and apply to a school that accept the retakes.

If you burn out all your ABSN options in the NC/SC area you can go the adn route and bridge over or try to find an 4 year school that may have an upper division after pre reqs. Another route is lpn, not sure of your financial situation but be aware that its extremely hard to get financial aid as a second degree student so make wise choices : )
