Help - What style of scrub tops do you prefer?

Hello, I'm new to the nursing world - just started school a few weeks ago. I'm trying to figure our what type of scrub tops to buy. We have full freedom in terms of scrubs, just have to look neat and professional.

So....what type of scrub tops do you prefer? Do you like the ones with the pockets at the bottom? Do you prefer to tuck your scrub tops in, or do you leave them hanging out. I'm just trying to get an idea of what others prefer before I place an order. Thanks!

I generally like the round neck ones. The problem with the V-neck scrubs (for me) is that the V is deep and I am busty with tiny shoulders, so if I stoop down or bendover doing care the pt can look right down my front. That means I have to wear a Tshirt under the scrub which gets hot in CA in the summer time. So I save the V ones for cooler weather. I also make lots of my uniforms so I can alter to fit which helps the shoulder problem.

We buy and wear our own scrubs because the hospitals don't (except OR). They used to, "can't afford" to now. That's ok w/me, since they never had my size anyhow. I don't like top pockets because when you bend over, everything falls out, sometimes even things that are attached to your chest wall. Causes bad words to be said.

I guess I'm the different one!

I really don't like the tops with the 2 front pockets, and I'm never very happy with tops that I buy in that style. Those tend to be a little longer and even with the side vents, they don't fit my hips well. If I get the top any bigger to fit my hips, it doesn't fit my shoulders. I like the single chest pocket style MUCH better. My job is such that I don't have to carry a whole lot in my pockets... it's all right close.

Absolutely 100% cotton on the tops. They're cooler and softer. I prefer cotton-poly blend pants because they don't wrinkle as bad (I refuse to iron scrubs!). Also, 100% cotton pants tend to wear out and cause holes in the crotch for me since my thighs rub together. The blends last a lot longer. Cargo pants are very handy. I like elastic over drawstring. I personally don't tuck in since I'm not very happy with how I look when I do!

I personally see very, very few people wearing print scrub pants. There are some in the catalogs, but I would think twice about buying them. Also, even though some companies sell bright yellow scrubs... that doesn't necessarily mean people actually wear those colors. Some do, but many people wear more subdued colors!

gotta have my scrub tops with 2 big pockets...have to have all that room to carry all my stuff in!!! :)

I don't see how people that wear those shirts with just one little chest pocket do it. Where do they keep all their stuff????

You don't want to know. ;)
