HELP! RN with little experience relocating to Arizona!

Published

Hi everyone!

I'm an RN with a BSN from Pennsylvania and will be relocating to Arizona within the next few months. I passed my boards in October 2013 and it was so difficult to find a job, finally got a job in PA at a nursing home as a supervisory RN in March.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any hospitals in the Phoenix/Glendale/Scottsdale area that are willing to hire RN's with little experience?! I'm looking for anything that is Med/surg as I am pretty much just starting out as an RN. Any help is much appreciated!!! Thanks!

The job market for new grads in Phoenix is VERY competitive. I am a new grad BSN and have not even landed an interview after applying for 50+ positions. Mayo recently opened a new grad program and received 1200 applications. It's possible to find a job but it will take much longer than you could imagine. I graduated in December 2013 and only about one third of my classmates have found jobs. And guess what, hundreds of more new grads will be graduating in a couple weeks! Sorry for sounding so negative but it's the truth! On the positive, at least you have some experience.

Any luck so far @sfarn? As for me, I've just been applying & still no luck. :no: I'm planning on moving in with friends at Scottsdale either July or August (with or without an RN job waiting for me). Thinking if working as a CNA or MA just to get into the system will increase our chances of getting into a new grad program? :up: **fingers crossed!!!**

unfortunately not :( @oreo29 I'm up to my 20th application so far for out there. The application status on all of them is always changed to something like "no longer being considered" or "sorry we are unable to offer you an interview at this time". and that might work! yeah I'm trying to save up money for the time being. I'll be moving out there no matter what in September. Idk if you have a facebook but there's some pages that I joined that seem to post some good info. One is called New Grad RNs of Arizona and the other one is called, Arizona Nurses Association's New Grad Connection. Just wish it wasn't so difficult! but we can't lose hope! good things come to those who wait right?!:) something will come to us when it's meant to. keep me posted if you find anything good!

Are you willing to try home health or correctional nursing?

Have you moved out here yet?

Have you moved out here yet?

@Asystole RN

No I have not. I'm waiting for

a job offer or moving out there in September no matter what. Whichever comes first!
