Help what is PVT trick and failed nclex

Published

I keep seeing the PVT trick mentioned--I've never heard of this. What is it?

I took nclex RN Friday; quick results said I failed!

What do I do now...

I studied my butt off--but had never seen any of the questions before?

Has anyone had to take the nclex RN twice?

Any pointers?

Best thing you can do when you prepare to take the test again is to study as if you had never taken it before, then you won't be tempted to leave out certain areas because your mind mistakenly convinces you that you already know it.

There is a big thread discussing the trick and is called Pearsonvue Trick part 2, suggest you have a good read of it and any further questions please ask in that thread as we like to keep it all together.

There are a few that have taken RN more than once, I passed on my third attempt. There are many threads discussing who did what etc try having a good read and it should help you make a new game plan

I failed yesterday too. You know what I found. This site is excellent to study from. Look for threat, "Anyone up for random fact throwing". Got over 300 pages of excellent material. The important stuff - straight to the point. The books usually have too much information. Otherwise, I would say kaplan

I too have taken the exam twice now. The first time I used Hurst Review and the second time I answered all of Kaplan QBank and Trainer questions. I was making in the 60-65% range. I really thought I knew my information before I went in, but apparently not. Both my exams cut off at the same number of questions. How strange was that for me? That was once reason why when I left the testing center I had a feeling I failed again. Did the Pearson trick and it sent me to credit card page. I have no idea what to do next, but I'm not giving up!!! I have spent too long to get where I am and nothing is going to stop me from getting my RN. Anyone know a good book or tutoring that I should do now? Just need to get over this small hurdle.

Yeah I wouldn't give up. I was devastated too. I had a job lined up, was hired, and then I failed. I still think bout it. Anyway, just keep doing what your doing. Also, check out that thread that I posted above. Really informative. Sorry to heart that. It will come.
