hey guys i failed to pay the fee for PNA. I have just recently passed the board (june2007). Pls help me. The last time i've heard there was a booth in the PRC wherein you could pay for the PNA fee. where would i pay? where is the office of PNA? thanks!

some of the hospitals here require applicants to be a member of professional organization.PNA also offers seminars.there is a discount if you are a member. :)

Can someone please enlighten me with this one..... Is it true that the PNA membership renewal is now 450 pesos? Why is that in other places they still charge the old same rate (300 pesos) Specifically here in baguio chapter......

PNA is an organization for the registered nurses, that means PNA has nothing to do with those substandard nsg school popping up from nowhere....that job is for the CHED people. And one more thing, PNA keeps you updated with regards to nursing issues here in our country. And besides they are not forcing anyone to join they're organization.....

Precisely my point PNA is an association for registered nurses, PNA should help its members right? But let me ask you, is the PNA well aware of the present condition of nursing in this country? or are they turning a blind eye on the high unemployment rate of its members? are they even aware that its members are earning way below decent living?

Mind you, if you've read PNA's Mission/Vission

it stated "To promote professional growth towards the attainment of highest standards of nursing"

if PNA wants to promote the highest standards of nursing in this country, it should have worked with CHED in the first place. Now tell me, is PNA delivering its promise of attaining the highest standards of nursing? or are they EVEN trying?

Whats the big difference if your a PNA member other than the 50 pesos discount on its seminars? PNA should have been a prestigious organization like the american nurses association, unfortunately the PNA is not.

I once applied in a local hospital and they told me that i am required to be a member of PNA, i asked them what for? Any licensed nurse with a membership fee can be a member, there is no entrance exam or anything. i added, will it make me a better nurse if i join their organization? what would be the difference between a PNA member and a non member? I got hired (even without a PNA membership, but after the one month training i quit i decided that i need to prepare for the NCLEX full time!)

I remember when I attended a nursing job fair in a mall somewhere in mandaluyong city, PNA's booth was one of the most populated. I would've liked to join PNA that time but I didn't have my license number yet (which is supposed to be required). It turned out that that day, they were giving out their green membership cards like candies to anyone who would pay P300.

I kept my P300 and walked away.

I was once active and worked for PNA-NCR Zone 1 Manila Chapter. I enjoyed the involvement and active participation. Now, that I'm based in the US, I'm proud that I have joined a local chapter here for the PNAA.

I'm not sure if you were absent during your Fundamentals of Nursing subject where they teach professional adjustment. Should you not asked yourself what you can do for your fellow nurses instead of just asking what the organization can do for you?

the only thing that you can utilize your PNA membership is attend and pay their trainings with discounts

We have a post in our unit bulletin board regarding PNA registration. We just have to pay P300 then the hospital will give us our PNA ID.

PNA or no PNA, if you dont want to be a member, then dont! PNA might not be vulgar by what they're doing and sometimes you can't reach them when you need them, well at least they're doing something for us.... IT just mean that they dont publicly announce they're projects and those involve are only on higher ranking, like the DEan, DON, etc.... but this is also one of their weakness....

It's nice that there's someone here who have worked for PNA before. I'm also really interested about what PNA does in our country. I am aware that they conduct seminars, so no need to mention this. Could you briefly tell us about the other things OUR organization does for nurses in our country (kindly exclude the JPEPA matter, i'm well aware of that)? I couldn't find much online.
