Nursing Students General Students

Hey everyone. I was wondering if someone can please help me out.

Okay so i'm starting city college this summer, and i want to major in Registered Nurse but i'm wondering once i'm done with my pre req classes how soon would it be to get into the RN program? Will it be a long wait or so? Also How long will the pre req classes take to complete? Any help please thank you very much.:)

No one can really answer as that varies from school to school. Where I am pre reqs take two years and you usually get in on your second try. Another school I got accepted to in another state I was on the wait list for 3 years. So narrow it down to schools and look at the projected semester schedules and ask about the general wait length

Depends. It took me 3 semesters, plus a summer to do my prereqs. After that I got right into the program. Some schools are crazy with a wait list....I'm glad I didn't have to deal with that. Good luck!

Wouldn't the college itself be the best place to ask?

Come on...we all ask questions around here that we could find the answer elsewhere.

Honestly I wasn't being mean. I genuinely think she might get an answer from her college with a phone call. Unless she happens upon someone at that college.

Also, I made the mistake of relying on other students for information like this and the program changed its prerequisites twice while I was on the waiting list (and no they did not communicate that to anyone one the list).

I am in NS and they just changed the whole thing again for people applying. So I couldn't advise someone wanting to go own my own college.

I say get the information from the horse's mouth.

I'm sorry DolceVita. I've just seen a lot of posts around here lately and posters are getting quite testy. Sorry I assumed that about you. :)

Definitely call your school. It really varies, depending on the criteria for acceptance and how well you do academically, whether it is merit based or lottery based, etc.

Okay thanks everyone. I will call my school but what should i say when i call them?
