During transcription a mRNA is formed from the DNA template. This mRNA is then translated in the translation process using ribosomes and tRNA. If the DNA sequence was ACCAAACCG what would be the nucleotide sequence or anticodon of the transfer RNA (tRNA) for the first codon?
1. ACC
2. TGG
3. UGG
4. UGGUUUGGC
I thought the answer for this question would be UGG.. since the first codon is ACC.. and that turns into UGG. But i got it wrong :/ I need to turn this in soon, and I've been looking everywhere but I still go back to the answer bring " UGG"
Help >.
Thanks a bunch

It's ACC. The MRNA codon is UGG and TRNA anit-codon would be ACC

DNA>> transcription>>MRNA>>translation>> ProteinSo if the DNA sequence is ACC and your trying to find the anticodon.. you must first find the codon and than you can arrive at the anticodon. The answer is 1. ACC. because ACC>>UGG>>ACC. You were on the right track but stopped after transcription codon, after that you translate the mRNA to tRNA to arrive at the anticodon to bind to the codon and arrive at the specific protein needed. Hope this helps! NOW I AM SECOND GUESSING MYSELF! I am not sure now!
