HELP! Long Beach City College versus Golden West College

Hiya all!

I have been provisionally accepted into the nursing program at both Long Beach City College (Long Beach, CA) and Golden West College (Huntington Beach, CA). I have about two weeks to make a decision to which college I should attend, as they both require a commitment in mid-April, and a completely different TEAS test.

Any advice? I have done all my pre-reqs at LBCC, and have taken one online class at GWC.

Would love to get some feedback.

Have you had a chance to meet with any faculty that will be teaching the classes at LBC?

I don't think you will go wrong with either program. If it were me, I would probably stick with what is familiar, and stay with LBCC. However, the parking situation might be enough to make me change my mind!! Haha :) (I took most of my pre-reqs there as well). I had intended on going through LBCC's program - but due to family circumstances and a move farther south, I had to switch schools.

i've heard better things about GWC than LBCC. wish i'd made it through GWC's lottery because it's where i did a lot of my pre- and co-requisites, and it's close to home. i ended up at cerritos and love it!

I wonder if anyone else has more insight on this topic. I would love to hear how people compare the two schools. I went to the LBCC info meeting last month and I'll be applying there next week. My top school is actually Saddleback. But, I think everyone knows that in Southern CA we cannot be picky as to where we get in with all the competition out there. I would really love Golden West, I took most of my pre-reqs there and OCC. I am also applying to Cerritos and Rio Hondo.

Hi APgar10. I got accepted into the Spring 2014 and also Rio Hondo Summer 2013. I wanted to know how you like the program at Cerritos. How are the clinicals site, teachers, and so forth? Im not sure to wait 6 more months or just start right away.

Go to golden west I have been accepted to Cerritos but golden west is the best school ever wish I went there
