That was exactly what I thought, that's why I though I must be doing someting wrong. Thanks for your response. I rechecked the question and it is exactly as I typed it.
Must be a typo in the workbook then. Does the book have the answers in the back? If it does, what does the book say is the correct answer??
Or maybe the answer is, the dose does not fall within the therapeutic doseage and you are to call the doc to verify the order
I have a question in my workbook that asks:The Dr. orders throxine 0.2 mg p.o. for the pt. Throxine tablets are 100 mg each. How many tablets would you give?
I am not getting this as the tablets are 100 mg and the order is .2 mg. Any help would be appreciated very much!
then the answer is N/A:idea:..you need to verify the doctor's order. If it is thyroxine, then yes, you will give 2 tabs if the stock available is 100 mcg
is the drug name typed correctly? i would hazard a bet the it should be thyroxine...and it would come in 100 mcg tabs, which would give you two tabs for the dose.....good luck
Yeah, that sounds more like what the question should be to make any kind of sense. Definitely looks like a publishing typo.:trout:
