Help on calculating annual salary

Hi everyone. I'm really embarrassed to ask this question but I can't figure this out. I hope someone can shed some light on my confusion. I am a new LVN graduate recently hired to work full-time at a nearby hospital. During my first orientation I was told that I will be working 12 hour morning shifts (7am to 7pm) and scheduled to work the following: 3 days on 2 days off, then 2 days on 3 days off and so forth. Well, this is a bit confusing since I'm used to working an 8 to 5 Mon-Fri schedule. Does anyone have any insight as to why the schedule is this way? And how do I figure out my estimated annual salary based on all the info provided: $15 hourly, on weekend $1.50 more. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Simple. Figure your base hours worked per year, that's 36 x 52 = 1872. that equals how many hours a year you will work without overtime. 1872 x 15 = $28,080. Add the number of weeknd shifts you will work. Assume 50 x 12 x 1.5=900. Add 28080 + 900 = 28980 should equal your annual base earnings.
