Firstly if you don't think you are capable of being safe with your care then you need to speak with your supervisor/manager immediately. Secondly anxiety can be treated with drugs and or counseling. See if your employer offers counseling services where I work we are offered so many visits for free each year. Thirdly nursing can be a very stressful profession so do not feel weird or foolish about talking to someone. There have been many that have been in your situation and have gotten help.

I too suffer with TERRIBLE anxiety...I mean TERRIBLE! I tried meds a while ago but did not like the way they made me feel at all and I stopped them. There are 2 things that have helped me so much
1 - Start taking Vitamin B Complex on a daily basis...I jsut feel calmer throughout the day and less on edge
2 - *MOST IMPORTANT* Go to this website www.stresscenter.com
It honestly saved me and helped my anxiety so much that now I don't even need medicine. Dont get me wrong I still get very bad anxiety sometimes but now I know how to calm myself when it comes on and deal with it, and stay out of panic mode and focus more. Check out the website. I ordered the program and honestly its made a real difference. It is pricy, but I love it and it was worth every penny to me!

I have recently have had an onset of anxiety. I can't relax can't think. I'm so embarrassed. I feel like only a devine intervention could help me refocus and calm down. I don't feel safe caring for my patients in this state of mind. This is the scariest thing I've ever faced. I'm not sure what to do.
