Indeed it is a combination of those items which makes nursing such a rewarding, challenging and ever changing profession!

the nursing process is the problem solving method we use to help us answer questions and dilemmas that come up in our practice. it has been extrapolated from the scientific method. therefore, i suppose you could call it a body of knowledge because in using it we base our decisions upon scientific facts that we pull together to answer and solve problems.
hi!... for those who posted their opinions/ comments... thank you so much!.. it will help me a lot.. but It would further enhance my report if you would justify more... anyway thanks again...
you asked for an opinion. now you want me to justify it? if you aren't getting that the nursing process is based on a scientific process and that we use it 10 times and more every day as nurses, then a nurse is going to have a lot of problems as they make their way through the profession. the nursing process is all about problem solving and that is what professional nurses are paid to do--make decisions because their are problems going on--not fluff pillows and hold patient hands [although we do do that too]. i've seen more nurses fail and get fired or have to quit nursing because they had no critical thinking skills and the nursing process is what critical thinking is all about.
i suspect you do not understand what i am talking about, but good luck with your report.
daytonite... thnks for sharing ideas...
