I am a male CNA in southwestern Illinois near St. Louis. I have been going to school for two years to finish all of my prereq.s and generals. I have made honors every semester and am finally finishing this semester with the last three. When I applied for the nursing program the school said I was 4 days late. Apparently I had an older application that had a diiferent deadline date. So now I have to wait for another year to apply.(well...9 months now) Does anyone know of any schools I can contact nearby or any hospitals near Belleville, Illinois that have nursing training? I hate to think that I will have to wait until Fall '07 to start now.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this , check to see if there are any LPN programs that bridge in next year. Don't give up, ckeck all schools in the area, maybe one will have a later application date. Worst case scenerio, you could take a phlebotomist course or a disection course to bone up on anatomy. Good luck, let us know what happens.
