Do you have any advice for someone whom doesn't have hospital experience but experience as a nursing assistant through home health and nursing home and would like to get a hospital position as a health unit coordinator? I apply over and over again and always get denied.

Specializes in CVICU.

Is it possible you can post the job description here? If you are not a nurse and do not have experience in leadership/management, I don't see how feasible it would be to get a job in this position based on the name alone.

You should apply for a regular CNA position. Often times those CNAs will get cross-trained to work as Unit Coordinators and from there it will be easier to move into a full time UC position.

Thank you I will try that!
