Health Promotion Question

Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

Hi there, I am completing an assignment for my health promotion course that requires me to interview 2 health practitioners involved in health promotion or public health. Preferably from two different disciplines. For example:

public health nurse

community development worker

health promotion officer

or any other job related to health promotion/public health/community development

If you are interested could you please answer these questions for me with your name:

How do you view health?

How do you view your role in helping individuals and/or communities to achieve and maintain health?

Share a story about you work (or 2).

Provide examples in your answers whenever possible.

Please and thank you to all who participate, this is of great help to me!

I'm pretty sure this assignment was given so that you'd actually go out and talk to people face to face. Talking to strangers is a skill, and it's a skill that nursing students need to learn. Talking to health practitioners face-to-face gives you practice in interviewing that will be valuable to you down the line. Please take advantage of the assignment to practice interviewing.

We were advised that we could interview these disciplines by any means necessary with online being an acceptable method of communication.

I don't work in health promotion so can't help you, BUT...

The norm for this site is to not share our names/contact info. Plus, these are essay questions that would require the AN member to type. It's better that the professional talk while the student takes notes, so as to minimize the inconvenience for the professional. (Myself, I may answer questions if they're simple enough that I can answer in 5-10 minutes, or I'll respond to surveys... but no essay questions. I got my fill in school. ;) ) Even if someone was willing to be formally cited (as is required for scholarly work), you have no way of verifying his/her veracity. PLUS, what Ruby Vee said.
