Can anyone give me ideas on health insurance. I am a new nursing student and had to quit my full time job, so I am now without insurance and it is mandatory at my school. I applied for Blue Cross and they actually denied me. I have two children who are insured with their dad. I am running into a wall.
I had to get low cost insurance also. My school suggested a company called Sentry. It's really cheap but it only covers about $10,000 in costs. I pay 32/month. A 25-34 yr old only pays $25/month. It covers summer also. You pay for 4 months at a time.
I hope this helps.
Do you have the website for them. I could not find it. Thanks.
If you are in school full time and unemployed, does your state offer a health insurance plan? If not, there is always Medicaid. I also need insurance and am over 30. It's going to cost me roughly $2300 a year for insurance (with my daughter on the plan). That's ALOT but, it's one of those, HAVE TO HAVE things. I think it's crap that Fortis only extends insurance to 30 years old at a lower rate-talk about age discrimination! Especially since my $2300 plan is with them!!
I plan to go to my local state office next week and apply. I will have a part time job, but I also have to get insurance for my oldest son, which I know I can get for him.
Madams, just click the address I posted. It will come up as E.J. Smith and then click health plans on the upper right hand corner. Then it will ask you what state you're in. They do have another plan that runs about $100.00/month that is major medical. You can also put kids and spouses on it as well.
