Why couldn't you have Medicaid? As long as you're approved. . .it's insurance!
Really, it's up to your school though. We aren't required to have insurance at all.
Thank you
I cant believe they make us spend even more money hahaha!!!

I haven't personally used this site, but a friend of mine does and recommended it to me.

I like it because you can compare companies.

We just got into the same boat, and I found a Blue product for about $270 a month. It has high deductibles, but at least I can afford it. It's called IC Flex from Blue Cross.
oh wow unfortunately I cant afford to pay this monthly ....lol I was looking at the $70/month ones :)
thanks
Unfortunately for us, our last son has tons of medical issues, so we can't use the least expensive. But the first quote we got was for $1200/mo and I was figuring we'd have to take our chances and pray no one got sick. If you would qualify for any state programs, I would definitely try to get it. Good luck!

Can you find a part-time job with insurance benefits and work while you are going to school?

I know nothing about any prices or companies listed. I am simply passing it on. Good luck. I really hope you can find something in the price range you are looking for. I don't know what state you are from but it is $33 a month for "plan I" for students in Virginia, on the ejsmith website (http://www.ejsmith.com/scripts/ejsplans.cgi?filename=PurplePlan2009-2010.dat&state=VA&year=2009-2010&segment=Premium)

i know there's a program through the student nurses association. it wasn't cheap (but none of it really is). my school in another state will accept medicaid, just call the school and ask.

Does your university offer insurance mine does? You can get catastrophic care for really cheap. You might be able to look and see.
