Headed to South Alabama for Summer Term

U.S.A. Alabama

Published

Hey everyone,

I am headed to the Mobile campus and starting this summer. I was wondering if anyone else was headed down there. I am entering the program as a prior degree student, and excited to get this journey started. Anyone have any feedback on this program, living area, want to throw in their two cents, or just want to post something about mobile or the university please feel free. I have looked through the other threads but nothing has really jumped out about this program. I will also answer any questions some of you may have if I can

Just got back from mobile this weekend. We went all through Mobile looking for places to live, and realized that west mobile is the place to concentrate on. Also there is a mellow mushroom close to campus which is great. I am also moving from Mississippi, and I do not know anyone at USA. However I did see the new building and it looks great, and west mobile is really separated from the actual mobile area. Everything is not too far away so i am excited to get this program started.

Were you there for the campus tour? I just was out there Saturday for it. One of two guys with the nursing crowd.

To the poster about the Grove, it's 485/month for a 3person apartment. That's where I'm moving to in Fall.

I finished my biology degree from Ole Miss, and have been lucky enough to pick up on some things related to the medical field. Quick question, I mailed my forms off the second week of march and never received anything except the orientation information for the regular college, have you guys received anything. And anyone know any other male nurses going to USA? May is going to get here fast, but I can't wait

I did receive the schedule of classes, but I think everyone got this.

I graduated from USA's nursing program in 2006 and I started in the summer it was difficult. My brother is starting this summer and after looking at his schedule you all are very lucky you should have a pretty easy summer for the most part. Health assessment is a little tough and pharm can be difficult at times. If you all have any questions though feel free to ask me. All in all nursing school wasn't that bad of an experience I made many friends and got a job working for usa medical center in the ICU.

I did not even know about the tour. I emailed the school today to establish what is going on with my forms and everything. I figure I am just paranoid, but before I load everything up and move 6 to 7 hours I want to make sure I am moving for a reason. Could anyone maybe send me the time slots on the classes are.

Hi! KC here. I went to Ole Miss 1st two years .......

You are not paranoid. I have not received anything since I faxed(Hope they received them)those 5 pages due in by April 3rd.

I think some posters are talking about the courses listed in the March letter of admission.

NU 325, Health Assessment

NU327, Pathopsych

HSC 343, Clinical Pharm

Yeah everything checked out ok, and emailing them is the best way.

So SOLO, did you check out any apartment complexes? The Grove was mentioned but I'm not so sure.

Thanks!

Did you actually tour the Grove? Do you know who you will be sharing an apartment with?

That's the one major negative. I have no idea who my roommate(s) will be. The complex didn't seem too bad. I met a couple junior yr students that said they lived there without much trouble. Any thoughts???

Will be checking it out today. BTW. Do you know if we(nursing students) will be in the new building or not?

Take Care!

KC

If the new building is complete in enough time, and if you were accepted to the Mobile Campus, you will be at the new building. This building will be for all Allied Health Programs and Nursing!
