HCC Coleman Spring 2021

Published

Hi I was trying to see whose all applying to HCC for Spring 2021. I couldn't apply for fall because I needed Micro.

My score was 66 and the email was sent to my HCC email

IDK if it’s just me but I’ve been having trouble contacting an advisor from the nursing department

people who have gotten accepted what was yalls percentage? also what was yalls last name?

Someone that applied for the fall session told me this: the letter of intent s aren’t acceptance letters. Everybody who meet the academIc requirements will get the letter of intent. So many people applied for fall got the letter of intent and got denied.

So why were they denied after getting the letter of Intent, was it for not completing the requirements ?

Honestly not sure on that, that is what she told me when I told her I have recieved and accept the letter of intent

The letter of intent is pretty much like a cover letter on a resume. They send that to everyone to really pick out the ones that make an impression. Some will get accepted and some will be put on an alternative list.

I got accepted into the Fall 2020 cohort, and the "letter of intent" basically means that you met the initial requirements (transcripts, courses, HESI exams). Then students are sent the information to create a castle branch account where they are expected to submit all of the required prerequisites (immunizations, TBON card, health insurance card, drug test, physical, etc.). After that, the students that meet the castle branch deadline are ranked from highest to lowest scores (score on application) For example: If they are only inviting 120 students the Spring cohort, only the top 120 students will receive admission to the program. There are always students that reject their offer, and from there, they will continue to select alternatives until all seats are filled.

Please around how much should we save for the program

@Chikacha I obviously don't know your financial situation, but if your in district tuition for the first semester will be around $1000. I would suggest allocating another $1000 for scrubs, books, stethoscope, shoes, and other required materials (medical scissors, penlights, etc)

Oh OK ,so if we get more than one letter of intent from different schools, should we accept both offers just in case we don’t get accepted from one of them after turning in the required documents? I would hate to decline an offer from somewhere else and not make the cut for Hcc
