HCC Coleman Spring 2017

Published

Hi!

Has anyone applied to the ADN program at HCC Coleman for Spring 2017?

I dropped mine off last week.

I have had plans to attend this program for many years and took my time completing my pre-req's to time my entrance with when my youngest turned 16 ( and got her licensela9MFCKoIaKIlaHjVuttgx238A8l+oISTPknrAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC

now im worried about the possibility they will not be able to seat a class.

Hey you guys! Okay, so I got in as well and I've just completed everything in Castle Branch and yes everything is due on November 28th...After you do the finger prints, you should get your BON clearance card pretty quickly. I got mine in 5 days! Also, I reached out to the nursing advisor and asked her about the accredidation status and she said they DID surpass the 80% requirement and that she is 99% sure that they will have a program, they are just waiting for the formal meeting with the BON to get the thumbs up and that's when they'll inform us in a formal letter. Also, someone mentioned above whether it's a fast track program (which includes Summers) and it is! I believe it's 18 months so it would start in January and run until May of 2018 or that Summer sometime. I reached out and asked this same question. The $61.80 includes the right to upload documents and also when they register you for a drug test, you can go ahead and do that (that's included in the fee) I'm trying to think of what else? Not sure! But I'll be following this thread because I've been trying to find one where everyone else is in the same boat and it looks like this is the one! Good luck everyone! I'm super excited but yes, it'll be much better once we have that final status question formally addressed!

Ohhh thank you for such detailed information. Hopefully, we get the info by this week coming up. I

So today is the day HCC is supposed to meet with BON! I've been patiently waiting all day for the formal email stating they will have a program! A little stressful!

Today is the last day of October, but I have not heard anything new from Coleman. Does anyone get any information about the school status?

I wrote one of the nursing advisors an email on Friday and just received word that apparently they won't have official word until January! I don't understand. They said we would know for sure by the end of October. This all worries me and I don't want to reject the other school that I applied to if there isn't even a for sure answer on whether HCC will have a program. This is stressful.

So awesome! Congrats! Yeah, I'm just confused because they told us, we would receive official word by the end of October and every time I ask somebody, they say it looks "promising but there's no official word yet" I've applied at other places as well and am waiting on Alvin to see whether I got into their program but HCC was my first choice and it makes me very uneasy that there is no definitive answer as to whether they will have a program or not. But anyways, so I responded to that email and wrote to the other nursing advisor and she said they WILL have a program but I mean you would think they would send out a formal letter or something? You know? I agree, it's all very stressful.

Thank you so much for your response. I will write to them again.

Has anyone heard anything?!?!

Yesterday I sent an email to an advisor, and this morning I got a good new from her. I am so so happy!

The Texas Board of Nursing met last week to make the final decision regarding our Coleman ADN program accreditation status. I am happy to report that with the increased NCLEX pass rate, the Board confirmed and elevated the ADN program back to its full accreditation status. A formal letter will go out later today, so please be on the lookout for that.
