HCC Coleman Spring 2017

Published

Hi!

Has anyone applied to the ADN program at HCC Coleman for Spring 2017?

I dropped mine off last week.

I have had plans to attend this program for many years and took my time completing my pre-req's to time my entrance with when my youngest turned 16 ( and got her licensela9MFCKoIaKIlaHjVuttgx238A8l+oISTPknrAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC

now im worried about the possibility they will not be able to seat a class.

Hello. I actually submitted my application at Coleman today too. I intend to apply to other schools also. The application period for Lonestar started last week and that of Alvin community college is set for September. I just want to have a back up plan, just in case Coleman cannot accept any students for spring 2017. It would be great if they did though. In case they do, i want to be considered for a spot in that class.

Yea! Someone else on here who applied to HCC!

What are your stats?

My pre-req GPA for them is 3.785.

My HESI scores are :

Reading: 86

Math: 96

Grammar: 100

AP: 92

Critical Thinking: 910

I have taken all of the "academic" classes that they list on their application also ( in addition to almost being done with pre-reqs for BSN programs).

I have also put in an application with UTHSC.

I am contemplating taking the TEAS so I can apply to Wharton Junior College (Sugarland location has a program that starts in January).

I thought of Alvin, but it is so far for me, as is Lonestar. I may still apply to them, but Im not sure yet.

I really hope they do get to keep their program! It would be great to continue with HCC. I have been taking pre-reqs with them for three years now. Also, the financial aid package I get from them would help greatly with tuition! Who knows what the others would offer?

Wow.. Those are some pretty good scores you have there.

My pre-requisite GPA : 4.0

Reading : 88

Math: 96

Grammar: 96

A & P: 84

Critical thinking : 880. I wished I did better in A&P but that is the first section is took.. I was still pretty nervous lol.

You have great numbers also! you should have no problems getting accepted!

Lets think some good thoughts for all of the students who are or will be taking the NCLEX this summer. Our program is in their hands :)

Hello ladies, I'm taking the critical thinking portion on Thursday. Can y'all give me some idea on what it's over?

Honestly, there is really no way of studying for critical thinking, at least not at our level. One thing to remember though is to handle the physiological before the psychological. Also remember the ABCs... Airway, Breathing, Circulation. That is what I did. Maybe jennmv can add something since see got a higher score.

like the firstlady29 said: definitely think of ABC's.....what need is most important? physiological needs before psychological....

Keep in mind HIPPA.....you cannot talk with anyone about the patient....

triage....which patient needs immediate care first?

Thank you both! I hope they end up accepting new applicants.

I really wish there was a way to find out what their passing rate is so far......

We won't know until October I think! :( so far away!!!

Hey you guys, I also applied to the HCC Coleman program in addition to Lone Star and three BSN programs for spring. I am hoping one of them picks me up. My stats are listed below. Does anyone know how they actually weight the application? I am hoping that I am competitive to make it into somewhere as I know it has become ridiculous with so many applicants.

Pre - req GPA - 4.0

HESI Scores

Reading - 92

Grammar - 90

Math - 96

A&P - 88

Critical Thinking - 840 ( I don't know what happened here lol)
