You guys, do we need all our textbooks for the first day of class? My financial aid just went through, and I planned on purchasing the books online to save money? You think that'll be okay??

Cy-fair has already been sending out letters concerning completed requirements and registration. I wouldnt worry too much. If CB says you are complete, then you should be fine.

Keep A's in those classes. Score b or above in all sections of hesi and you should be good. As in the sections would be preferable as many applicants in fall season. Best best of luck :)

Block curriculum is organized according to content area i.e pedi, obs, surgical whereas integrated is ordered in increasing difficulty. Pretty sure cy-fair will be block!

@LizFrank. Depending on the test run, generally any value greater than 9.9 is consistent with immunity. Make sure the test you are having run is a Quantitative one and not a Qualitative one. Quantitative tests report the specific number of anitbodies circulating in the blood. If you are not yet immune to Hepatitis B, get with your primary care provider and explain to them the situation and it is up to them to decide whether or not to fast-track the Hepatitis B 3 - series. As per my doctor, she said it generally takes two series of the vaccinations to confer full immunity, at which after, the third shot is generally a booster that confers immunity for a longer period of time.

YIKES, this worries me because I have a 7.58. I hope I make it. If not I will be crushed. I have already had so many rejections.

A&P section is the trickiest. Use the study guide and also, review basic concepts dealing with hormones, histology, bone types, and structure and function of the ear.

@zullyzoo You complete the HESI and have the scores posted into Lone Stars system. At this point, you can apply online via a link on the nursing requirements page where it says "Nursing Basic Track" " apply". Make sure all your classes are posted into the Lone Star system otherwise, the portal will not open for you and will not let you apply. Then, you must submit the required documents, along with a printed application to the Lone Star Nursing Department of your first-choice. Try checking out this tab for additional information. HCC Coleman Spring 2017
Oh, and same deal for me. I did not apply to TWU because they wanted a Women's studies course and I am not adding that onto my already full time fall schedule just to apply to one institution. Plus, I think they want the TEAS as the entrance exam and because all of my preparation and testing has gone toward the HESI, I do not want to have to go that route unless it is absolutely necessary. But anywho, best of luck to you and your endeavors. Houston has a lot of options for nursing in general and I am sure the committed and passionate applicants will get the chance and opportunity at the right time!!!

HCC Coleman Spring 2017
Yes, I have the recommended courses completed as well with A's in all except for A&P II. I messed up that semester because I had some major negative life circumstances and barely scraped by with a C. But otherwise both Developmental Psych and Humanities I have "A''s in. I applied to Prairie View , UTHSC , and HBU. Basically anyone that picks me up at this point for spring, I would be thankful and grateful for the opportunity. Although, an immediate BSN program would be ideal, I have no qualms doing the ADN coursework and bridging to a BSN and then MSN in the future as nursing is my passion and interest. To be honest though, with an overall 3.5 GPA I was denied from UST nursing program for fall and I am really worried about all of them considering my experience so far.

HCC Coleman Spring 2017
Hey you guys, I also applied to the HCC Coleman program in addition to Lone Star and three BSN programs for spring. I am hoping one of them picks me up. My stats are listed below. Does anyone know how they actually weight the application? I am hoping that I am competitive to make it into somewhere as I know it has become ridiculous with so many applicants. Pre - req GPA - 4.0 HESI Scores Reading - 92 Grammar - 90 Math - 96 A&P - 88 Critical Thinking - 840 ( I don't know what happened here lol)
