Hcc ADN Spring 2018

Hello all!

I'm creating this forum so that everyone who applied/is interested in Houston Community College's ADN nursing program can have a resource for info.

Currently I am listed as a 'Alternate status'. I'm not sure what it means exactly, but I'm guessing that its a pending acceptance.

If you applied or have any questions, please leave a comment below.

"Alternate" means that you didn't make the cut. If some students who were accepted decide not to attend or can't attend (no tuition money, failed a drug test, etc.), then you (or another alternate) will be allowed to take their place.

Good luck!

Have you heard from the program if your status changed? I received my conditional acceptance letter few weeks ago and in the process of completing all the requirements (vaccines, CPR, BON clearance card,...)

Nope, I'm in the process of getting all of it done. I have all the vaccines, but I need to get the CPR license & health insurance. Tomorrow I have my finger print appt.

Hi,

I got accepted into the HCC Coleman program but also got accepted as an alternate at Lone star College Cy-fair location. Lone star would have been my preferred school but im caught between waiting to get fully accepted into Lonestar and accepting Coleman's admission. The deadline to submit the Letter of Intent is in a few days and Im confused. What do you guys think?

I heard good things about the Lonestar program. My friend graduated from that program and is now a nurse. I don't really know anyone who graduated from Coleman, but I am worried about how their NCLEX passing rate is low. In the 75% if I remember correctly. I would submit the intent, worse case you just tell them your not interested anymore.

Hey Ladies what CPR card are you getting to make sure I get the same one. I too got accepted and working on all my requirements. Who are you getting insurance with. Thanks

On the Castle Branch it says that your CPR card must be from the Heart Association so I guess that's the only place you can go. Be sure to enroll in the BLS course because it's designed for healthcare professionals.

What about vaccines and health insurance

I received that email too. Then I received the email that said to disregard any previous email with a different letter that says I have been conditionally accepted. Which basically means that I can start the program as long as I have all the requirements completed and uploaded into castlebranch.

HI guys I am applying at HCC for the FALL 2018. My following questions are:

1. How are the semesters divided? Ex. Fall, spring, summer. winter?

2. I have all the vaccines, but I'm worried there may be issues being accepted.

3. What are your current grades?

@Almost_RN_ANA Have you seen a forum for fall 2018 ? I've looked everywhere
