HCA New Grad Program (StaRN) at Kendall Regional (Miami, FL)

U.S.A. Florida

Hi Everyone!

I just got accepted into the New Graduate RN program at Kendall Regional and wanted to know if anyone else has done this program and your experiences (good, bad ect). Also, any advice???? I'm super nervous!!!

Thanks! :)

I am currently in the StaRN program in the Tampa Bay area, 1 week left before I start my preceptorship and I absolutely love it! I'm doing it for the ICU track and I have learned so much

I'm happy to report that I just accepted a spot in the StaRN (PCU) program in the Tampa Bay area and will begin August 25th! I've heard a lot of great things about this program and I can't wait to start! I had originally interviewed for an ICU spot, but I was not chosen for that program. They did, however, recommend that I interview for the PCU program which I did and was accepted into.

For those asking how to apply, the hospitals in this area post the position in the normal career section and label it as StaRN so you will be able to identify it right away. I know that when they posted it at our local hospital it was only up for a few days because they get a ton of applicants. Make sure to check every day and sign up to be alerted when new jobs are posted.

You're very welcome, glad I could help! Now I can't wait to start :-)

Just curious did u apply at Brandon Regional? I interviewed for a PCU position. I was told I would know by Friday if I had got a spot, but instead a received an email saying she was still finalizing offers and she would contact me Monday. Now I'm nervous I didn't get it.

Karen,

It was at Brandon. If you didn't get it then Jennifer (HR person) would have told you. I know she had to contact roughly 25 people for the PCU program. She doesn't sugar coat things so if she said she is still finalizing then you are still in it! From my experience she calls to make the offer and will email you if you are not offered it. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Okay, thanks. I still haven't heard anything yet, but I also haven't received a email saying that I hadn't gotten it either. I'm thinking what might be holding up my process is that I don't take my NCLEX til the 15 and that could possibly make them decide not to go with me. Owell fingers cross, and congratulations in getting in. :)

Congrats!!!! :)

Hi jessy20! Congrats!! I start August 11th also . Nice to meet you! :)

Karen,

That could be the hold up. Maybe they really like you and want to hire you, but aren't sure about taking someone into the program without their license yet. Overall I'd look at that as a good thing because even if you don't make it in now, I bet you would be at the top of the list next time!
