I moved to atlanta 2 years ago and i have had the hardest time finding a job. I just recently finished up my BSN and I relocated to atl as soon as i graduated from a 2 year program. I am getting discouraged. the only place I have worked was with mollen last year. if someone could help i really appreciate?

Are you being picky about where you're applying (such as only hospitals), or are you applying everywhere?

I'm having a hard time too. I thought when I moved here to Lawrenceville in April that I would have had a job by July atleast but that's not the case. I didnt realize a lot of hospitals require residencies here and apparently its not easy to get into them not to mention that hospitals only have them maybe 2 times a year. As far as other areas of nursing besides hospitals, most I've talked to wont hire RNs because they cant "afford" to give out RN pay or they just arent hiring. I've even started branching out my radius further to the point where I would have to move again but I really don't want to do that, I really love this area.

Miranda, if you have experience I hear some hospitals in Atlanta are hiring lots of nurses for agency work. Look into it!

Try ltc especially facilities that have skilled rehab. Its very fast paced and A LOT OF WORK but, its GOOD EXPERIENCE. You will learn how to manage your time and get to do skilled procedures like picc line care, iv initiations, and sometimes blood gas and peak and trough lab draws because those draws have to be done by an RN. While you're getting your experience, you can keep applying to the area residency programs. That's what I plan to do when I finish my bridge program.
