Have we all thought about??

Creating a new FAQ thread? I love reading the threads here, but the same questions are asked over and over and over again and it'd be nice to just say, "check out the faq!" I'd really like to develop this forum a bit more instead of being cluttered with so many new grad, what book should I read? new grad, how do i get into NICU? etc etc.

I'm completely unopposed to questioning seekers because that's they are the future of NICU nursing (we can't work forever!) and I think those that are passionate about NICU nursing should be encouraged. But I think we'd attract more threads and comments if so many of the same topics didn't clutter the page.

Thoughts?

Sounds good to me as i agree that questions do get asked quite a lot which are the same as previous questions and it would declutter the forum.

As a new grad hoping to get into the NICU, I would love it :-)

Personally I wish allnurses would delete threads older than 5 years. When I run a search, info from 2001 or 2005 isn't going to help me. We lived in a different country back then. So I often just post without looking. A FAQ would be great, as long as it's not from the Bush administration. The first administration... :dead:

I agree with NewYorkerGirl to some degree. What about some posts that are still useful that are timeless.

Such as many from Daytonite.

Well, I'd love to work on this next week if anyone wants to help. We can definitely pull in some information from old threads if it's still relevant. A starter would be a list of questions that people ask, I'll list some, feel free to chime in:

1. What does a nurse do in a NICU?

2. What do the levels in a NICU mean?

3. How do I become a NICU nurse/how do I increase my chances in an interview?

4. Which books should I use to study for the RNC?

Maybe something like:
