Have any of you studied for the NET w/ this? How did you do on the test? I was told this was good but just wanted to check with my fellow nurse/nurse to be Arizonians;)

This is what it says about it:

The Study Guide will help you with specific testtaking skills for the Nurse Entrance Test (NET), Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test (HOBET) and the Higher Education Learning Profile (HELP). Practice tests, which have been modeled to simulate these Entrance Exams are designed to provide you good practice and test taking skills. (paperback - 156pgs)

**Also, I need to get my fingerprints done too, do I go to the police dept.for this or is there another place to get it done? As far as I know the police dept. is teh olny place but..it never hurts to ask : )

I studied with the 'Study Guide for The NET The HOBET The Help Entrance exams' - I think this is the one you are looking at. I passed the Net. WHOHOO!! I studied the math a lot ( I made multiple quiz's and did them over and over). The rest of the guide is boring reading but trust me it's on there!! This book helped a lot!! Go for it and get it!!! I bought mine at a CC, check around it might be cheaper.

Regarding your fingerprints - I called my local police department and they told me when they do fingerprinting. It took like 5 min. to get it done. I'm not sure of anywhere else to go!

When/Where are you applying? Good luck!!

Hope this helps!!!!

If you haven’t already done so, call the Arizona Department of Public Safety to request that they send you a fingerprint clearance card packet, 602-223-2279. You need to take the packet with you to get your fingerprints done. This is just to obtain the packet. It is the only place you can get it, and you must have it. Info from DPS can be found here: http://www.azdps.gov/reports/fingerprint/faq/default.asp

Once you have the packet, go to any of the places on the list found at http://nursing.maricopa.edu/ProspectiveStudents.php

I went to the Community Wellness Program in Gilbert. I just walked in, paid the fee, and was done in about ten minutes. You can also get the TB skin test there (not sure about any other locations), for an additional fee. They give you a discount if you do both. But, be aware they only do the TB tests on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, so go one of those days if you are doing both.

The Police department isnt the only place, I got mine done at a place called heartsavers on (I think) country-club and brown in mesa, but they have different locations and I think I only paid like 7 dollars, but you have to have your packet already and take it in with you. They have a website so just type heartsavers into google, Im sure it'll come up.

OMG I forgot all about Heartsaver having that service...

I have a CPR/First Aid class set up throught them & just called about the fingerprints & it is still $7 to roll the prints & then you have to of course send your $52 or whatever it is now in a money order with your prints. I will be getting that done through them also.

Thanks for the reminder about Heartsavers!!!

You're very welcome!! Yeah I did my CPR class through them, our instructor was kinda a nut job though LOL. But I felt like I walked away knowing what to do. Oh and when I got my fingerprint card I only paid $46 because I was told since it was for clinicals we would pay "volunteer" prices.

So, I did my CPR/FA today through Heartsavers & yes the instructor was kinda' all over the place:roll. It made class fun but I can't help like feeling like I needed to be taught a little more in the first aid area....I also walked away feeling like I really learned it & could do it if needed....I would go through them again.

yeah i felt like i walked away knowing what I needed too as well... I am glad that they were helpful to you as well. I wonder if we had the same instructor?? Was your's an african american guy that sat on the desk the whole time and kinda told crazy stories.. LOL

lol no, he was a quite young guy that was VERY energetic but very smart!

Thats cool!! Energetic is always good in a class that is 3 hours long or more...

Hello,

I'm currently residing in Sierra Vista AZ. and wanted to ask about NET Exam. What did you feel the hardest part of the exam was? Did the exam have a section with vocabualry or spelling on it? Have any of you actually entered into the nursing program yet? Any information would be helpful.

Yes this is the best book to study for the NET. I guess it is by the people that wrote the NET for Arizona State University. It has almost identical examples of what is on the test.
