  1. I called U of P a while back. You must be an LPN for one year (if I remember correctly it might be 6 months) before applying for the LPN to BSN program. Most of the credits do transfer.
  2. I am currently in this program!! It is not difficult to get into - last year there was no waiting list but now I am hearing there is a one semester wait. The cost is very low - Spring semester was around $700 and Fall was about the same. They gave us a box deal with all our books for the year plus a tote full of supplies for our labs that was about $500. They start every fall and spring. They have a day and evening program so this can work for just about everyone - working full time or part time. You do have to have some pre-req's (CNA, med term, CPR). The app is one Gateways website but its kinda hidden. Its on the far right hand side under the nursing tab. I would def look into this program if you want to get into the nursing field. It is the same program as the regular RN program, the only down side is we have to take the HESI and score a 800 to go directly into the third block of the RN program. If you have all your pre-req's done. If you want more info just PM me I'd be happy to tell ya more!
  3. Hello! Just wondering if anyone had any info on the LPN to RN program at Shoreline Comm College. I have all the class info. but wanted to know more about the point system and how competitive that program is to get in. I have all but one class to take before appling - Lifespan Development. Which I will take in March then apply later this year. I would be moving from Phoenix to Seattle if I get in - YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! Well if anyone out there has any info I would be happy to hear about it!!!!!!! Thanks a bunch!
  4. Thank you!!! Now I have a list to go searching!!! One more thing - Do you know if they are competitive to get into? Thanks!
  5. I studied with the 'Study Guide for The NET The HOBET The Help Entrance exams' - I think this is the one you are looking at. I passed the Net. WHOHOO!! I studied the math a lot ( I made multiple quiz's and did them over and over). The rest of the guide is boring reading but trust me it's on there!! This book helped a lot!! Go for it and get it!!! I bought mine at a CC, check around it might be cheaper. Regarding your fingerprints - I called my local police department and they told me when they do fingerprinting. It took like 5 min. to get it done. I'm not sure of anywhere else to go! When/Where are you applying? Good luck!! Hope this helps!!!!
  6. hello! i am currently in an lpn program in az. but want to move to the seattle area asap! i was wondering if anyone knows if there is a waiting list and how long it will take to get into an lpn-rn prgram in the seattle area? i have all the pre-req.'s done, but no health care experience. can anyone advise me on the process in wa? community colleges or university's, even lpn - bsn prgorams. and, how competitive is it to get in? is it as hard as the community college rn route? high gpa, experience, ect.?? also, if i get my lpn license in az will that tranfer to wa? should i take my nclex-pn in wa if i know that is where i want to work? or transfer once i am in seattle? thanks for the help!!
  7. If you don't mind me asking how much is the LPN-BSN through U of PHX? How long is the program? I am starting the LPN fast track at Gateway this Aug and that might be a good option for me once I am done. PM me if you would like, I want all the info!!!!! Thanks!!!!
  8. Have you checked out the colleges? I took the CNA at Paradise Valley Comm. College this spring. They are pretty low in cost, but it does take a full semester plus some pre-req.s. Check out thier website. Good luck!
  9. Thanks for the info!!! I checked and a lot do have different pre-reqs! That is different that what I'm use to down here!!!
  10. I would also like to know about the LPN-RN program at ANY CC in the Seattle area. I am in my last semester of pre-reqs in AZ and hope to get into the LPN Fast Track program here in AUG. ( its a one year program) then move to Seattle and continue to get my RN. Also, what are the pre-reqs up there? THANKS!!!!!
  11. The PNW is great! I grew up in Seattle and love the rain and cloudy weather. I am now in AZ and can not wait to get back up to that part of the country! July and August are usually sunny, the rest of the year you will have mostly cloudy rainy days, with a few clear sky days. If I were you I would move to Seattle, but I love it there!! Hope this helps!
  12. Zman I'm from Seattle (Shoreline) too and have been living in PHX for 11 years!!! I'm finishing up my pre-req's for my RN and get to apply next semester!!! Where did you go to school? PM me if you want!!! Welcome to the Valley of HEAT!!! Get ready for the summer!
  13. Hey! I use to live in N. Scottsdale and now I live on the Glendale/Phoenix border, close to Banner T-Bird. I had an apt. in Scottsdale, loved the location tons of stuff to do but a little snotty (sorry for anyone that lives in N. Scottsdale :) ) Lots of bars to go to great restaurants and there is always something going on. I now have a house, the area is ok I find that there is not much to do out here. I work in N. Scottsdale still and the commute can be harsh -the 101 is a danger zone. There is an accident almost daily! PM traffic (going to glendale) starts around 4pm and doesn't lite up until 6:30 sometimes and in the AM traffic (towards Scottsdale) can get tight but it moves pretty well. Well thats my 2 cents!!! Hope that helps!!!
  14. And if anyone knows the pay for S. Maine - Sanford area. Thanks!
  15. Thanks for finally posting on this!!! So there is NO (!!!!) wait list for the LPN program at Gateway!! I will also have my CNA done Spring Semester then apply in March. Do you know what the hours are like for the LPN at Gateway? I still have to work to pay the bills but really want to get into the field ASAP! Are you planning on going on to get your RN?
