Have you ever been bullied by someone who had seniority over you?

It's a curiosity question. Tell me your story.

Is bullying and being micromanaged the same thing.  I'm just curious...

I wouldn't say I was bullied but I would say I was overly micromanaged. It wasn't easy to deal with.  My breaking point was when my boss would wait for me at the o'clock when my lunch was over trying to catch me a minute over. Yea, that did it for me.

It is very sickening to see older nurses bully newer nurses, or certain group of ethnic group bullying a minority nurse.  The problem isn't you, it's definitely them.    Confident isn't display by belittling others! It is by supporting the ones that you see need a little help.  To the bully nurses:  be a better human being.  Life is too short to be so petty and angry.

Interesting as I've seen the opposite..younger nurses bullying the older, more seasoned nurses. Guess its based out of jealously - but whatever the reason - it's not a good professional look for the newer nurses that's for sure

If this nurse with only 2 years of experience lies and manipulates, that nurse WILL eventually be caught.  How long it takes is hard to determine.  I remember when I had a tough situation come up I was repeatedly told by an older much more experienced nurse to remember to keep careful notes and to document dates, times and incidences of occurrences.  On a SEPARATE PIECE OF PAPER write how this made you feel.  Do NOT turn your feelings nor your opinions in.  Just as in legal documentation,
"Just the facts, ma'am", will suffice.  A couple of times I had it happen but now at age 65 in September, I would confront that person and tell them if the situation continues, then their work experience will not end favorably.

My facility usually has contract MD/DO's that stop by for patient care. When they opened this up to NPs and PAs, we had a NP that came in and started talking down to everyone on our medical staff (including RNs/LPNs) but especially so with CNAs/Techs. She only lasted about a month. Thankfully we currently have an MD on contract that is very polite and helpful and is great to talk to and work with!
