Have you completed the OASIS C yet?

I completed an OASIS-C discharge today and it was not hard. Tomorrow will be my first OASIS-C start of care. We were well prepared but I'm a little worried about completing it in a timely manner. Any impressions from those of you that completed one today? Do you feel you received adequate training?

i was handed the manual and things go on as usual

yep. did a ROC and a SOC. actually was not too bad. BUT, we had 3 classes on it and our agency ordered a item-by-item manual with explanations by Medpass - very helpful. took a little longer, but really not too bad. good luck to you!

i did one over the weekend, the oasis itself is not terribly bad, can't fly through it anymore but it is pretty self-explainatory.

my problem is going to be contacting the doctors and actually HEAR BACK! most of them probably think we are annoying enough as is.

we also have to check for major drug interaction now, which in itself is not a bad idea, and i can see some patients really benefit from it, but i feel it should be the primary MD's responsibility to do so

i agree with all you said,,,how in heavens name are we going to actually hear back from the docs???!!!! we were told as long as we make contact with a "human" in the md office, not a voice mail -- that too is hard, everyone has voicemail,,,there has to be a "right" way and a "real" way.

would love to hear how everyone is handling this.

the drug interaction check, just another time consuming item,,we are still on paper so we have to do it at home or come into the office and use a computer there,,,i have www.drugdigest.com as a favorite and you can use that real easy....just another medicare challlenge!!!!

We use a laptop with a medication validation program installed and have always had to do that and fax MD. It will be interesting to see how we elicit required response from MD. Fortunately my first client had no medication issues.
