In my case I had taken a live course and I think it really help me a lot.
Different people have different kinds of studying, and both have their pros and cons.
Some may like to have a live lecture because you are force to attend and listen to them. You also has the time table that review center has set. They also focus on all subjects and give you some tips that make you easier to remember. The do's and dont's of taking the exam. The disadvantage is you have to give your time attending classes everyday.
While in self study you have the advantage of studying at you own pace and study at your spare time but sometimes studying by yourself, you might forget to study some topics that may be important in a long run. Some just study what they are incline and forget to focus on their weaknesses.
It may depends on what style you are comfortable and what kind of reviewee you are. You can choose what will be convenient to you.

I agree! Really depends on the individual. As for me, it was such a huge help simply because it helped me focus more. During discussion, it also helped me remember info on some of the topics. You're very lucky if you also have a good instructor with a good sense of humor, it keeps the discussion alive. Of course, they would also get you used to practicing whatever strategy they have. Other than that, it was very useful in a way that the other fellow students would also share some of their tips in remembering facts. I sched my exam and took the first available date when the class ended and passed nclex with 75 questions. Goodluck to you! :wink2:

Hello
I took hte live Hurst review....It was pretty good. The only problem that I had was that the AV equipment didnt work, so we couldn't watch all of Marlene's videos, but I found out if u do the online study with hurst it's the same thing. The program to me is based for RN's, but they will tell u don't worry LPN's take the class to, but once u get in there they only talk in reguards to RN, but we all have to know the same info the only difference is Management & Deligation....over all i think her program is wonderful and you will never 4get Marlene's southern accent(lol)...You can also take the class as many times as they offer it in ur area. I'm taking my boards again for the 4th time..wish me luck!!! Hope this help!!!!
