Has anyone went to Unitek for the LVN Program????

I am going to start this November & I wanted to know if anyone has attended Unitek College in California...Please let me know what you thought of the School.

Hi,

I am starting school at Unitek on Monday and just wondering what the pre reqs consist of? What kind of classes are they? Do they go over math and english?? I am not that good at math either but bought this book called Math for Meds and have been using it and really helps. I thought i should brush up on my math before i start. Good luck to u!

BTY the calssees are A&P, Math, Micro, a few more I think. you will have like a ton of tests in the 3 weeks and who ever gets the highest grade will go on to teh core. 4 people will not make it.

Nope I do not party I just have a Hubby & 4 kiddos ;p Thank you so much for your input it really helped...I am very scared because I was never good in math and that seems to be a big part of the schooling right...Let me know if you passed the test.

I was on the list to start either sept or Nov but got a call last week saying they were going to start next Monday Sept 24th. They said this Friday the 21st they were going to have interviews. Call your advisor you should be on the list to start. What type of math do they go over? Is it fractions division?? Do they let us use calculators?? god i hope they let us use them! One girl I know who went there said they do but it depends on the teacher. I hope u start with me! Let me know.

Mine is X. Im goin to call them 2day and see what is going on cause last week he said for sure it would start sept 24th. I hope we start 2gether im sooo bad in math we could help eachother out. Im in Citrus Heights which isn't that far away from you! Im 24 as well im married and have a 2 year old. just wondering how unitek is going? what was the total cost? and what made you choose unitek? Iam looking at schools in that area also.

I went to Western Career & Unitek and I was not impressed at all with Western Career. Unitek is $33,298 total and you would have to get a School Loan from Salli Mae. They will be having a class starting this November as well so if you are interested I can give you my advisors name & number & you can get the ball rolling. They are having the CPAT test today at 2:00 in Sacramento. Let me know if you need any other info.

thanks for the reply? Did you look at any other school than wcc and unitek? unitek seems so high? it seems to be 10,000 dollars more than ncp? did they have a entrance exam? how hard was it? I live close to santa cruz, so I would be commuting. So I cannot get over there to really check out the school over and over like id like. Ive went to the one in fremont once, the facility was nice, as I remember. I am just confused why the big price gap? keep us posted?
