I 'transferred' my LVN license into Texas back in 2006 and my RN license into Texas in 2010. During both periods, the process of endorsing my licensure into Texas took about 5 to 6 weeks.
You will need to visit the Texas Board of Nursing website and click on the link to see what is involved in obtaining a Texas nursing license by endorsement. The steps are all clearly spelled out on the Texas Board of Nursing website.
I just transferred my license this past summer and had the same experience as TheCommuter, temp. license within 10 days that was good for 120 days. Once I completed the nursing Jurisprudence exam, I received my permanent license within 10 days. I was scared to take the exam, but I took the course they offer through the website and took the exam right after and it was pretty easy.
In my case, no. Instead, I just kept checking the online license verification system once per week until I finally saw my name and permanent nursing licensure number issued. After you submitted all your items for endorsement did you status on the BON site say submitted for permanent license?

I'm wondering what all is involved in doing that and roughly how long it takes?
