I have recently met all of the requirements for Tri-C's LPN program and now am scheduled next Saturday to take the "Evolve Reach Admission Assessment Test" for this program. All of the school's previous information noted the required Nursing Entrance test as the NET. Apparently they have changed this requirement. I reviewed all of the NET material and was very confident in my knowledge of the material but after purchasing the exam review book for the Evolve test, I almost feel lost. The practive exam covers stuff that wasn't even in the review and practice material. Like US to metric conversions, boy was I lost!! I was just curious if anyone has taken this test yet and their feedback.

I took both the NET & the HESI A2 from Evolve. I actually found the Evolve test easier than the NET. The HESI math allowed us to use a calculator. The vocabulary are medical terms that I am sure you have learned from watching a tv show. A&P was basic and the reading was pretty straight forward. Chem and Bio were basic as well, cells and basic Chm like H20 CO2 etc.

But yes you need to know the conversions. You'll need it for Nursing School anyway.. might as well get them down now. I still stuggle with it myself and I graduate in 4 days. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. It definately helps! I'm 49 years old and returning to college after 22 years to make a career change and finally do something in my life to be able help someone else. I have already re-taught myself algebra in order to score high enough on the COMPASS to meet eligibility requirements for the program, I forgot how much tets taking is involved in all of this!!!! oh..and congratulations on your graduation!

Tri-C had to change to the Evolve test because the NET folks went out of business as of 12/1/09. (Two companies with competing tests merged and decided to only keep on of the tests, so NET lost out.)

Hummm... our program still requires the NET. Wonder if they'll change it?

FYI - Tri-C only requires the math and reading comprehension sections of the A2 exam.

Math, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, and Grammar. I thought the test was incredibly easy. I prepared for the math a bit (it had been since 7th grade when I did that type of math), but you get a calculator. I maybe put in 1-1.5 hours of total studying and in those above sections I got a 98%. I'm pretty sure the test is at an 8th grade level.
