Hi all,
Has anyone taken their science pre-reqs through Edukan and successfully had them accepted by a nursing program?
I'm currently living overseas meaning no chance of taking an in-person science course for at least another 2 years. I feel like I'm just twiddling my thumbs in the meantime and really want to get started!
I've made a list of schools to contact and ask specifically if they'll accept online prereqs with labs, so far 1 has said yes and 2 have said no. One said they "prefer" in person science courses, but will consider online ones - not sure if that's good enough!
If you had your online science courses accepted, which programs did you apply to? ?

Very few accept online science labs (at least in CA) - Western Governors is only one of few that accepts them this way and it is very impacted. Every other ADN and BSN program I've looked into/spoken to (pretty much any school within 2 hours of Los Angeles) wont accept them this way. I did my sciences in a 4 week accelerated format though a health university and some of the ADN programs won't even accept that. I would say don't waste your time. Do the other pre-reqs online and wait to take the sciences through universally accepted schools so you aren't left with limited options.

I have completed Fundamentals of Chemistry and signed up for Microbiology this next semester with Edukan. You enroll with a community college in Kansas- and that's where your transcript comes from. (Think of Edukan as the online platform for the colleges.) There used to be 6 community colleges to pick from- now there is only 4. I am going through Barton Community College and have already transferred the Chemistry to my local community college without ANY issues.

@kdcanter I am looking into taking Microbiology & Chem through Edukan. How did you like them, and do you recommend the professors that you had?
I just completed Microbiology- (JW) it was really interesting. And I loved the virtual labs! I took the 12 week and it wasn't overwhelming. I would definitely recommend. Chemistry was pretty good- brush up on math though LOL.
