I took it recently. I can't exactly tell you how many questions were in each segment, but they were many. Definitely more than ten. Yes there was some algebra. I would recommend you get the study guide if your math skills aren't strong. You aren't allowed a calculator so do lots of practice with just paper and pen before you go in there, it will help a lot. It's not too bad but you do need to have your math skills sharp to get a good score. Definitely get the study guide.
I took it years ago, and thought all the test items were on a high school level. You should do fine. You might ask someone in the Testing Center at your school if they have a practice test you can look over.
I took it last month, it was about 40% math and 60 % reading comp... by my guess. But I later found out *after* taking it and stressing about the math part (not my strongest area) that my LPN program only requires me to pass the reading comp section, they don't count the math score, so you might want to check that out too. Not to say you shouldn't try to do your best to know the math, because you will definitely need it, but it may help you relax a little about it. :) And DEFINITELY get the study guide, you can probably check it out in the library too. I have serious doubts I would have doen as well if I didn't read the study guide.
I haven't taken it yet, but I have the study guide...I do recommend getting one!! I found mine on Ebay for just a little bit of money. :chuckle Even though I have had college algebra, the study guide reminded me of some things I had forgotten.
I studied mine on the way to Florida...kept my mind off everyone's driving.
However, I didn't get my scholarship set up as fast as I wanted. So, now everything is rolling, and I'll probably take the NET after the first of the year..after I study my NET Study Guide again.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
I took mine last month too. The study guide is good to have just for reassurance, but if you didn't have trouble in high school, then you should do just fine. I am looking at my score sheet right now, and it doesn't say what percent of questions they have but it does have all of the type of questions there are for math. I list everything, and the passing and average scores for everything.

Has anyone recently taken the NET (Nursing Entrance Test)? How much of it was regular math and was there any algebra? Thanks!
Hi marcieg, I took the NET Feb. of 04'. I remember some algebra at the end, not much though. It says in the NET study guide that if you do well on the math part of the test that you don't have to do well on the algebra part. My problem was the reading comprehension, it is tricky, and you have to manage your time wisely while completing it. I made 5th alternate and actually got in the program. The nursing director called me on the very day the program started expecting me to come up with tuition, book money, uniform money, and exam fees, I left to get the money, I only had two hours to get it back to the business office. While at home the phone rang, it was my family calling to tell me that my step mom was involved in a fatal car crash, so I called and turned down the position in the program (It broke my heart), so anyway, I am taking it again this February 05'. By the way, my step mom was barely hanging on, she was in the intensive care all summer, but she is home and is getting stronger everyday. So good luck when you take the test. If anyone knows a way to strengthen my reading comprehension skills in preparation for the NET please let me know. I do have the NET study guide and it is worth a million dollars to me. Is there any websites that help with the reading part?? Thanks to all.

Congradulations on your scores. I am confused about mine, could you tell me what the two scores at the very bottom means? I have a percentage score on the left, and a percentile score on the right. Is one for math and the other for reading? I can't figure this out. What is the composite percentage and what is the compostie percentile? Thanks for your help.
Thanks. But I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean at the very bottom of the scoresheet, because all of that is non scored info.
