If it's a known condition and she stablized. But if it's a new condition of previously unknown origin I would be a little wary of that.
yes, shes had this dx'd for years, it just got worse this month....
I was just unsure about the transfusion part...... I thought a transfusion would automatically buy you a bed for the night....thanks, tweety!!!!
I had same prob, drove to the ER (no accident), was there for several hrs, they gave me no trans, left and drove myself away (no accident). I was so weak and out of it, I really had no business driving a car. Within, days, I was back for this time a trans, got a room mate who got trans for same reason, both of us left as soon as trans finished. This time I was with it enough to get a cab as I did not want to wreck my car.
My grandmother who has a cold aglutin autoimmune hemolytic anemia (along with a stable lymphoma) gets blood transfusions at least once a year. 8 days before Christmas, she went to the day surgery center at the local hospital where they gave her 2 units of packed RBC, monitored her for about an hour post transfusion, and then sent her on her way.
Good luck to her...
