;) Has anyone heard of a private school in Crystal Lake, Il called J. Renee

Career Facilitation. If anyone has could you please let me know what

you have heard or experience good or bad?

I am currently enrolled there, however everything is excellerated and ver

mentally draining.

Any graduates from this School?:balloons: ;)

My two friends, they're sisters, went to J'Renee and said that they couldn't pass the NCLEX. They said they wasted $15,000 each. I hear J'Renee is like, $20,000 now though... YIKES.

I am thinking about starting this program. It seems there are mixed feelings on this school, but it has been a long time since the last thread. Can anyone tell me if things have improved? I have to take A and P over because it's been more than 5 years. It's almost $1,000 for the class! But you can be grandfathered in to MCC for the 2nd year to get your RN. I hope to hear from someone!!! Please!!! After reading these threads I'm a little nervous

Hello,

Not sure what stage you are at as far as enrollment but please don't waste your time at that school. I went there last year and it did not get any better. I'm sure you spoke to Juanita regarding the program, don't believe anything she says. She is a lier and a con artist. She also has mental issues, don't get caught critiquing the program b/c she will literally bash you verbally in front of a classroom. To summarize she made my life miserable after that. How unprofessional right? The first month started out ok, then it went down hill from there. Clinical was a joke. Just remember this, if you decide to enroll, the world revolves around Jrenee. There are going to be frequent changes in the schedules which will conflict with your work/ life outside of that school. They don't care about that, just your money. They don't teach anything, you teach yourself. We had one week of pharm, scary! It was a horrible experience and I would never recommend this school to anyone. I am giving you a heads up b/c I don't want anyone to ever go through what my classmates and I went through. :scrying:

If a waitlist at the community colleges are and issue try chamberlain.edu. I heard they have a location in addison with no waitlist. Good Luck...

Thank you Kai for responding. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I have to make a decision soon. Clinicals were a joke? Do you mean you didn't have much clinical time? I would consider going to another school, but this school is so close to me and I have 2 small children. Were you able to find a job okay? You would think an accredited school would handle things better than this. They changed your schedules? Do you mean night vs day school hours? Thank you again for your advice. Please tell me if there's anything else you can think of.

Americare in Schaumburg has an LPN program. I had one friends that was in their program and pleased but had to withdraw because she couldn't afford it. I'm working on getting into a community college for next fall :)

Does JRenee require you to pass the HESI as an exit exam? do you have to pass any type of exit exam? Could you take boards right after you finished or did you have to wait or get some type of approval or take some type of exit exam

Yes, you have to pass the HESI. They call it ATI. After every class you have to take an ATI Exam. Total of 7 ATIs(MedSurg, Fundamentals, OB, Peds, Mental Health, Pharm & Comprehensive). After you finished your last class you have to take Pharmacology ATI and Comprehensive ATI. If you pass Pharmacology, you can graduate although you will receive a blank certificate for Pharmacology. Then, you have to go back and retake Pharma. If you failed the Comprehensive, you can't graduate. You have to go back and take PNU 116 (the last class).Your going to receive 2 certificates (Pharm and Nursing diploma) when you graduate. If you pass both of them, you still have to review for the board. It usually takes about 2 weeks. Then you can schedule to take the board.

I am familiar with ATI it is not the same as the HESI, we had to take all the same ATI exams but not the pharm one we did take comprehensive but they were not required to graduate. The HESI is completly different and it is much harder than the ATI or NCLEX, so thank god they don't require the hesi it is a nightmare

I just started jrenee with some prereq classes, so far so good, I will admit they need to work on the administration side a bit more as far as scheduling classes to begin when scheduled and saying one thing but not being true, I have a classmate who was told its fine if she started the Lpn program without being a cna because her test date would be 2 weeks after the start of the Lpn program but when the teacher heard that she flipped saying that's impossible blah blah, well hey its not the girls fault blame the office ppl for letting her know that, all in all I do believe its a good school and you do learn because I'm learning a lot better at these pre reqs than in my cc, here I justearn the necessary information.not the overload of unnecessary info. I was reccimended by two nurses and im glad I cane here I was literally going to sign up for ambria but I had a bad feeling about it just meeting the owner he sounded too good to be true Plus he we.t around what tuition would be when I asked he's like Ohh roughly 20 something thousand, okay..and after the session a lady told me its going to be with everything, close to 32k, Wat! Insane, well to everyone out the j Renee is moving to a new building in Elgin, and just got approved for fin. Aid. So look out ambria,

I do think when he said close to 32K for everything...he was including books, etc...because the actually tuition is not 32K
