I haven't- but I'd put the name of the school in the title- would attract more attention to those who HAVE been there who may otherwise skip over it!

Never heard of it. I tried to google the school and couldn't find a direct website for them. Kinda weird........ I work in Barrington so maybe I'll have to swing by there to see what they are all about. If you find out anything let us know.

I live in Crystal Lake and I wasn't aware of it. I know the McHenry County College has a LPN program and the College of Lake County (where im at) has an RN program.

Hello, my name is Megan and I just graduated from J'Renee in July. I am currently waiting to get a response to take my boards and I am sooo nervous! Haha. If you have any specific questions about the program you can ask me. Our class had a a very bumpy year considering that it was their first class for the LPN program....but I would assume that it has gotten better. I know that they just hired some more teachers and stuff.... Well hit me up if you need any information. Good luck!
Thank you so much for answer my message... Would you call a "bump" year? Very hard classes? Not good clinical? Please let me know. I hope that this program would be OK. I will be driven 37 miles(one way) everyday. I really like the owner of the School, " Juanita". How it was the clinicals? Where it was done? Do they had a Graduation party? How it was it? My classes are supost to starts in the middle of September. sorry for all the questions... Feel free to add any other information.
Good lucky in your Boards.

I almost went there but decided not to. I liked it because there was no wait list and because you could take a&p through an online course (canyon college). I met with the owner Juanita Macklin and she was super nice. The drawback is it is very expensive and when you finish you can only work as an LPN. You would still have to go back to school to take the necessary pre-reqs to become an RN. It is a fast and decent school if you want to become an LPN and stop there. If not you would be wasting a year when you could be taking your pre-reqs to get into an RN program.
Good Luck.

Yes, I know. That's why I am taking my pre-requisits at College of DuPage. I finished A&P II on this Summer and I am register fo Food Nutrition and Life Spam at COD for Fall., so when I am done with the LPN, I am going to Saint Xavier University in Chicago, they have LPN to BSN. I wish that I could just go to a Community College to became a RN, but to get admitted into those Comunity College Nursing program is so hard. I have a lots "A's" and "B's", no "C's" but just seems not enough. I am very desapointed, because I can not to get into my own Comunity College program and I have to pay so much to a private School, but there is my only choice. I am in the waiting list for Joliet Junior College, but they changed the admission again, so I was going to start next year on Fall( I am out district), but now we have to apply again and also take a pre nursing test. They changed the whole admission requirement. I have a friend that is going to starts RN at COD this Fall, her GPA is 3.87 and she got a 94% on the HESI test. I am not just that good...
I just found out I passed my boards! :biggringi So I am very happy with the way things turned out at JRenee. All of my fellow classmates have been passing their boards as well (with 85 questions I must add!) and we are all very excited. As far as the money you pay for the program, yeah that sucks. But remember, this is a PRIVATE school...they get no government funding. And as far as pre-reqs go, alot of us already had our RN pre-reqs done before hand. So basically we all just have to bridge in to a community college, which is much easier than waiting to get in for the two years to begin with. And this way, we get experience as LPNs while we are waiting to complete the second year. I say it is a win-win situation for most of us. Its also great for people who dont plan on going any further than the LPN.
And Juanita is very nice. The school is grass-roots. It was the first private LPN program to approved in the state of IL for a VERY long time. And the state definitly needed one!
Send me a private message if any of you prospective students have a question.
