I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A LPN SCHOOL IN MEMPHIS AND I HAD NOT TOO MANY OPTIONS OF SCHOOLS. I CAME CROSS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS SCHOOL THAT HAS A 14MONTH LPN-BSN PROGRAM. ON THE APPLICATION IT HAS PERSONAL STATEMENTS LISTED...YOUR INTEREST IN A CAREER IN NURSING, FUTURE PLANS RELATED TO ACAREER IN NURSING, AND YOUR ABILITY AND MOTIVATION TO COMPLETE AN INTENSE PROGRAM OF STUDY. HOW SHOULD I ADDRESS THOSE QUESTIONS AND WHAT ARE SOME KEYWORDS THAT NURSING SCHOOLS LOOK FOR IN PERSONAL STAEMENTS AND INTERVIEWS??
PLEASE HELP...:uhoh21::smackingf:cry: ANYONE...SOMEBODY...I REALLY WANNA GET IN THIS SCHOOL...

You should address those questions truthfully. Don't come here and want to know what the adcoms are looking for. We can't possibly know what they are looking for. Also, your personal statement is only a small portion of the whole package.
Union is NOT an LPN program (just letting you know because you mentioed that you had been looking for an LPN program in Memphis) but rather a program for LPN's who want to obtain their BSN.
Good luck
well it was stated that if you are of 24 years of age with at least 24 credit hours of college that you are able to enter the LPN-BSN program as a non nurse. thanx;)

I looked in to Union in Jackson, and they have an accelerated BSN program also, but it was extremely intense and quite expensive. Good luck with your search.

The non-nurse BSN program they have is not an LPN-BSN program. It is a 14 month BSN program for non nurses who are at least 24 and have 24 transferable college credits. And the next one doesn't start till Jan 2009

DO you know if there are any particular kind of classes they consider transferable??Do the classes have to pertain to nursing?? if you do i appreciate would you be so kind to let me know? thanx so much...:)
Hmm, their website doesn't give much information, though it does say they are reconfiguring the program. I would guess they are probably looking for English, Statistics, History, and things like that. You could always call them and see what they say. Good luck!!

Hello all,
I just got into Union University at Germantown for the Accelerated BSN program. I will start in January 2008 and finish in December 2008. The progam is for people who already have a bachelor's degree and have completed all their nursing courses. For those of you interested, please take your time and work on your personal statement. You will be asked questions about your personal statement during the interview.
Good luck with your applications......

Union is an excellent school and they offer several programs. LPN to BSN, RN to BSN, Accelerated BSN and a 4 year BSN. They do NOT have an LPN program. TN Technology Career Centers, which has many locations in TN, is one of the few places left to get an LPN degree. I am not sure where you live but Northwest MS Community College also offes it. Also Jackson State Com, College in Jackson TN has it too. After you become an LPN there are plenty of LPN to RN or LPN to BSN programs that you can get into' many of them are online and have the exact same certifications as other qualified schools.

Is it possible to work and do this program? I am planning on moving to Memphis (home) and would love to do this program.
