I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A LPN SCHOOL IN MEMPHIS AND I HAD NOT TOO MANY OPTIONS OF SCHOOLS. I CAME CROSS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS SCHOOL THAT HAS A 14MONTH LPN-BSN PROGRAM. ON THE APPLICATION IT HAS PERSONAL STATEMENTS LISTED...YOUR INTEREST IN A CAREER IN NURSING, FUTURE PLANS RELATED TO ACAREER IN NURSING, AND YOUR ABILITY AND MOTIVATION TO COMPLETE AN INTENSE PROGRAM OF STUDY. HOW SHOULD I ADDRESS THOSE QUESTIONS AND WHAT ARE SOME KEYWORDS THAT NURSING SCHOOLS LOOK FOR IN PERSONAL STAEMENTS AND INTERVIEWS??

PLEASE HELP...:uhoh21::smackingf:cry: ANYONE...SOMEBODY...I REALLY WANNA GET IN THIS SCHOOL...

Its not recommended that you work during the program. I was planning to, but after doing almost 50hrs of class room lectures and clinicals, they is just no spare time to work. I'm thinking of working during the last semester (Fall 08), but it might not be possible with a full schedule. I hope this helps and good luck.

Pretyjaz,

I just applied for that same program for this coming year in 2009. What is the interview like? Oh, and are there any breaks at all? Im planning on getting married, but didnt know if I should just wait until I am done or not...thanks so much!

I just got an interview scheduled with Union on August 7th to enter the accelerated BSN program ( I already have a B.S in Natural Sciences). Any suggestions about the questions.. what should I expect?

Sorry Friends06, I have not login for a while. Regarding the interview, please know your personal statement thoroughly. Study for the TEAS exam using the suggested study guide. Relax and be your self. If you do well in the TEAS and the interview, then I'm sure your in. Then start getting yourself ready for the dosage calculation exam. You can either wait to get married or try to do it before January 2nd, 2009 when the BSNA program will start. I had to push my wedding to April 2009 because I just could not keep up with school and planning a wedding.

Hello Glo1985, like I told Friend06, get the suggested study guide for theTEAS exam and study it. Focus on the chem, biology, nutrition & math session. Make sure you still understand and can remember how to do conversion (know the apothecary/household/metric tables). Review your personal statement and be able to answer these questions..

1. Why did you choose this program? Why did you choose the accelerated track?

2. Are you willing to sacrifice not working to make it in this program?

3. Why will being in this program benefit you? Why you choose nursing?

Once you come in, you will sign in with the nursing coordinator, then take the TEAS exam and finally get interviewed. Good luck and I will be in clinicals till 5pm that Thursday. Let me know how it goes and we can keep in touch.

Hello Friend06

We have a few days off between sessions. 1 week for Easter, almost 2 weeks between spring and summer session, 2 weeks between summer and fall semester, 2 days off for Fall break and Thanksgiving weekend.

Thank you so much for all the help! I already ordered the TEAS review book and all that to start studying right away. Does anyone know the acceptance rate for this program?. I originally wanted to go to Germantown but they called me and asked me if I would be interested in going to Jackson (I am still completing Pre-requisites) and since union is my first choice I decided it would be worth it (I live in Memphis). How big is the Jackson class? Thanks in advance!

Another question are you allowed a calculator and some paper when you sit for the teas at Union? Thanks sorry for the million questions!

I have my interview Aug 1st! Thanks for all the advice!

Has anyone received an acceptance letter yet? They said it would be around the 14th...just curious =)

i haven't received a letter yet.
