Has anyone heard of CARLEEN HOME HEALTH SCHOOL???

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi everyone ...RNs, PNs, students and all the wanna-bes like me. Can anybody tell me if they have heard or has any experience with this school -- CARLEEN HOME HEALTH SCHOOL? Its located in University Drive, Plantation FL. Coz ive never heard of this school ..even the name sounds -- umm, unprofessional?. They dont have a website too. and for their clinicals, you have to do it in Nassau,Bahamas. A relative of mine is trying to get in this school for RN and she says that since im waitlisted anyways for PN, to try this school coz they are currently accepting students. On Superpages.com (i told you, they dont have a website!), i found 6 reviews. and one reviewee said that this school has just been approved by the board of nursing to to conduct PN and RN classes.

Any inputs out there??? thanks

hey butterfly i think you are fluttering around too much.. i think you are bitter because you were kicked out of school... you cannot go to BCC or MDC and owe not even a dime. you have to pay before you even enroll for the class. you start tto he class with a zero balance. i noted all the gramatical errors you made in your post.. maybe that is the reason you could not finish the program.. take care and if you dont have good to say about her school.. dont say anything.. let those interested in a education get it.. without your negativity

S/he doesn't sound bitter, just unhappy with the school, and was answering the OP's question very well, giving his/her own experience as asked. Frankly, I've heard similar stories from others, so his/her post doesn't surprise me. Yours, however, does...if you're going to throw stones about someone's grammatical mistakes, you should be pretty darn careful that your own post isn't full of the same, as well as punctuation and spelling errors; oh, wait, your post IS full of that.

At least in butterfly's case, s/he did say s/he was from another country and it would appear English is not the native language. What's your excuse? I'm seeing a glass house and the place is just surrounded by stones....

I attend this school and it has been a great program for me so far, her program is getting full quick so take consideration on attending if this is the decision you make. If your doing the bridge program then the program is a little shorter than mines for I am in the RN program. The Bahamas is included in the price of the program, if it was said otherwise it is not true..No the ati is not given at this school..Extra credit no, I don't think the word fail should even be an option, in nursing school you should have a study group or if studying by yourself works that's great. I went in signed up toke the entrance and here I am on the rode the becoming and RN, best decision. Remember you are only in the Bahamas for your clinical not drama... I would recommend this school to anyone and everyone, b/c its not easy getting into a nursing program with all the waiting list...All the best in your decision and to all the nurses to be.
I am also enrolled at her school since my last post but for the bridge program! When I asked about failing I wasn't doubting myself but worried the school thins out it's students just to trap them in a contract but at Carleen there is no contract ( now that I signed up I know) also I know this sounds bad but a small part of me was hoping it was an "easy A " because working full time studying and home life takes a lot of energy! And I have some friends there now and it is pretty easy ( compared to community college) ! As far as the Bahamas clinicals " drama" comment : in all honesty it's 4 girls in one room 2 per bed lol there's unfortunately going to be drama! But the context I used at the time was about my overprotective husband that thinks the Bahamas is unsafe for an "unattended blonde from the US " and despite me begging him to stay home he says it's a public hotel and he is entitled to stay as a paying customer! So I still havent brought it up with the school yet but in a sense he's right they don't own the hotel or maybe they do and that's why we have to go to the Bahamas !

Carleen home health? uhmm read too many different reviews good and bad ones.

Has anyone here already finished the program? If you did would you please commemt on your personal experience meaning the clinicals in Bahamas. Did you feel confortable taking the nclex exam? Did you have a hard time finding a job? Please be honest. You can write me at [email protected]

Thanks Phattie1 for the reply.Someone told me about this school. I heard it is very expensive and one have to make monthly payments while attending the school. I was told classes are monday and wednesday for the RN programing.

dear all,

i am not a student nor am i affiliated in any way withcarleen's school, however; i would not attend that school even if i was beingfinancially compensated. this is all due to one reason. that one reason is thefact that you will not learn! not learning means that you will not be able topass the nclex. the other thing that scares me is the fact that her students cannotfunction in any clinical settings. iknow this because i tutor her students. they are seeking help from outsidesources because they are not getting the education that they are paying for.

Yes, I have. The school's staffs are amazing and the price is pretty good. My bff's mother is going there because other public school hours did not work with her work hours and she frigging love it. But their clinical are in Bahamas. She said she love it because they are exposed to so many stuffs and she felt that they prepare her very well. Also, they use ATI to make sure you are prepared for the NCLEX. My mother is going there in the fall.

The thing is, if u get ur ASN from them and they are approve to take the Nclex... you are able to work in Florida bc you have a license... so you can work at any hospital in florida... you not limited... and you can complete ur BSN at UCF or any other public school... therefore you will be able to work anywhere.
