Hello All!
I was wondering if anyone here had gone through the nights/weekend ADN program at Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles, CA? I am just about to apply and was wondering what it was like.
Thanks!!!!:)

Reputation, program, clinical affiliates, instructors are all excellent.. Mount has a good pass rate also. If you can pay the high tution cost you will enjoy the Mount.
good luck

I went to MSMC's ADN night and weekend program. It is OK, the school is somewhat disorganized. It is VERY difficult to work full time. I remember waking up on the weekend and thinking "It is 9am and I only have 13 hours to study if I go to bed at 10pm" Regarding the pass rate; it is poor 77 percent recently, I believe, and that is the best it has been for a few years. Never went to another ADN program so it is hard to compare. Seems that the teachers all have 3 other careers and teaching takes a back seat.

yeah what about the personal statement and application requirements??
i mean i know what i'm supposed to write but i dont know what they expect...do they want a story, a hook, diversity of student, longer than expected etc? is it like a UC application? do they even really case it on personal statement or just gpa? is it done by lottery? i mean what did you people write to get into the ADN program? what gpas did you have?
what about housing around the msmc?? there is no housing for adn students. i was thinking if it was practical to drive all the way from pasadena everyday?

i just graduated from msmc's accelerated bsn program (which is located on the same campus as the adn program). they were starting some new housing for the adn students as i ended the year. so yeah, there's some new housing available on campus (in addition to the housing that they already had), in case anyone was wondering. and i think someone mentioned driving from pasadena.. it's not a problem, as long as you don't hit traffic on the 110 (but when is that ever possible when you're living in la). hope that helps.
