Has anyone ever taking Bio 202 and mircobiology together?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello everyone, I'm a pre-nursing student at Jefferson state community college in b'ham,AL and I was wondering is it possible to take Bio 202 and mircobiolgy together. Thanks for your inputs!

Ive taken both of them and got Bs:icon_roll I just wanted to know if anyone took Micro what was their experience like. Did they enjoy it did they hate it?

I have taken micro and it is a hard subject, but it's very intresting, and I found it much more difficult than A&P. Like any college level science, you just have to study a lot. I read the chapters in the book like the instructor said and read over my notes almost everday and I still had a hard time, but I still passed the class. It also depends on the instructor you have, the one I had was a great instructor but was tough. Hope this helps.:D

I took A&P 1 and Micro together and I didn't think it was too bad. I thought a lot of the information overlapped at the beginning. The teacher's opinion was that students should wait and take A&P 2 with Micro. I think you'll be fine as long as you take the time to study. There is a lot of stuff to learn in Micro lecture so plan to study a lot for it, but I LOVED my Micro lab!

I am currently enrolled in A&P I and microbio for the fall. After talking to the nursing advisor and one of the biology advisors, I will probably hold off on microbio. The bio advisor did say that A&P II + microbio would be better, since you have the experience from A&P I.

But, if you did not get a good grade in A&P I, I am not sure taking 2 difficult lab sciences together would be a good idea.

I took A&P 2 and microbiology together last semester (at Shelton State). I studied A LOT! and got an A, and a B respectively. Although our microbiology course at Shelton is notoriously hard. It can be done if you normally are one of the better students in your classes and you know why you didn't do as well as you would have liked in A&P1. ( Such as personal issues, you didn't apply yourself, working too much, or some other reason you have taken care of). If you felt that A&P was just too much to memorize then I wouldn't suggest doing them together because both require lots of study and memorization. There were 4 of us who took them together in my class. The girl who was a great student going on to UAB to be a PA and myself made it through with good grades (hers were great), the other two had to drop micro.

Ok Im registered to take A&P 2 this fall and Im still deciding if I want to retake A&PI. It alls relies on my Teas score now. I hope I score high on that so I can have that C in A&PI and wont have to worry about retaking it. What do you all think?

I'm taking A&P I and Micro this semester.. Even though some people advise you not to take the two sciences together, I think it's good preparation for the nursing school workload. But just like any other course load, time management and study skills are the two main important factors in excelling. Goodluck.

I'm taking A&P I and Micro too! And I agree, if we can't handle that now, who knows if we'll be able to handle nursing school later on..

Good luck everyone!
