Has anyone done the LPN to RN back to back??

Published

I posted this on the general board but I was told to ask here. I will find out tomorrow if I got into the RN program this fall. If I don't get in the LPN director is offering me a spot to start the LPN program this fall. I REALLY want to be a RN but I kinda think maybe the LPN would be good experience. Can I/should I do the two programs back to back? If I went ahead with the LPN program I would graduate next summer then I could(if my school allows it) start the RN program the next month. Has anyone done this? Is it more trouble then what its worth to do it this way? Advice etc would be great :D Thanks!!

Graduated LPN 2004, took a year off to adjust to everything, then started back to schoo fall 2005.

I graduated LVN last August and started RN about 5 months later. I think it is the best way to go especially if you need to keep a job while pursuing your RN. I have found soooo much flexibility in nursing that I am able to juggle two different jobs and keep up with school.
