I applied for the NICU and PACU on September 4th and I haven't been called for an interview. I got the confirmation emails and an email requesting more information regarding why I wanted to work in the PACU.
For the NICU internship, I know they are strongly preferring tech experience, BSN, and 3.0+ GPA. Out of the 3, all I have going for me is the GPA. They have the pick of the litter in this economy, so I guess they are taking full advantage of it.
I just received an offer and accepted one of the internship positions on Friday! My best advice to you is to call the recruiter! If you have not heard anything from them, then take the initiative to call and ask what the status of your application is. If no one answers leave a message. Be polite and persistent. You will have a phone interview with the recruiter, and if you pass their "weed out" questions you will get an in-person interview. I had to call the nurse recruiter twice before I landed an in-person. I didnt hear anything for over two weeks, so I called on a Monday to find out the status of my application. They told me it was stll active and that I would hear something soon. I waited another week and still didnt hear anything, so I called again last Monday and left a message. I got a call back later that day and finally landed an nterview. I was fortunate enough to land an offer by Friday. Don't give up! your hard work will pay off in the end! Good Luck!!
Thanks for the good advice. I actually got a call today and scheduled a phone interview for Tuesday. Unfortunately, my school/clinical/work schedule is so booked that I had to turn down going to an open house on Saturday because of having to work. :imbar I hope I didn't blow it. The recruiter told me that they have to fill 2 more interview spots.
If you don't mind sharing, what kind of questions did they ask in the phone interview and in-person interview? It has been so long since I've done one. I get so anxious just thinking about it!
Congratulations!

They asked questions concerning conflict resolution, and why I chose to apply at Baylor. The also asked a scenario question, but in all honesty I can't really remember about what exactly. I also had to describe a clinical experiece relavent to the area I applied to. I am sure you will do great! Good Luck!!!

I kind of got a late start, but applied to several of the internship/residency programs at Baylor for January. I am just wondering if anyone has applied and gotten a response or an interview? I received the standard email stating that they have received my application, but nothing else. If you know anything about the program.... what they look for, how competitive it is..... if you have heard anything....how many positions available, etc.... Please post!!!!!
